Hi guys

First time grower

2nd week into flower on some Afghan Kush

Im flowering under 250 Watt HPS and 2 flouros twin 55watt 650Ks either side for lower parts of the plants

So far i have not used any nutrients what so ever just plain potting soil

Do you think i should keep it this way after seeing the pics ?

All looks quite healthy to me but then again i am new to all this

Any advice on nutrients or keep it natural would be great

Will post weekly updates

Cheers !

It looks ok considering it's under a 250. The soil needs to be known before any advice can be givin' on adding fertilizer. On a weakly basis(or daily) you should see noticable growth if everything is good. If you notice a slowdown at some point give them a little NPK and always give them less than the instuctions suggest. As a rule of thumb when using a fertilizer manufactured for soil I cut it to 1/6 for my flood and drain table. Be sure that the mix is well mixed and never pour the mix directly on the tap root when in soil. Pour the mix around what you think is the perimeter of the plants roots. Feeding them just enough is way better than OD'ing them on to much NPK.

Thanks for your advice.

The soil is just a plain old potting soil none of that 3+ month nutes in it like you see a lot of these days.

I still have a bit left in the shed ill drag it out tomorrow and get some pictures of it.

I know when i bought the potting soil the guy recomended that i buy some nutrients to feed them with through veg every 3rd watering but i was happy with growth that i never bothered and now in flower it's growing close to a inch a day give or take it's really starting to take off.

I do also have another 250 watt hps i was going to add to the grow but am worried about heat as it is summer were i live at the moment and tent sits at 30c - 32c during lights on and i knows that a bit on the warm side. Thoughts ?

More light would increase potential yield
and you could combat the heat with extra ventilation (bigger inline extraction fan)
a cheap dimmer switch can be used as a fan speed controller for when you want to slow the fan down
(when it's dark and temps already start dropping).

Does that soil contain sheep droppings?

Well aware of more light more yield ect just worried for about heat as im not going to be selling any thing i grow id much rather a good smoke over a lot of shit smoke ect.
Have looked into upgrading ventilation in tent but in my country there are like 2 indoor grow shops and both over charge like crazy this simple upgrade of ventilation for me would be about $600NZD thats about $500 USD

And no about the sheep droppings is that some sort of a New Zealand joke ?
