In my case we have no need at all for birth control. I'm still paying for it though.

They should both be responsible, IMO, but I can see the arguement that if a woman Is in charge of her body in regards to abortion , shouldn't she also be the sole person responsible for determining when she gets pregnant?

I guess I have just one question: where is the guy paying a co-pay for rubbers? Those aren't covered... But again, I'm all for bc being on a woman's insurance , as it should be, just not on a man's.
you clearly don't understand that pooling reduces costs and that birth control does more than just prevent pregnancies, it is actually medicine. so we pool it up with all the other medicine.

this isn't build-a-burger.

Your ideas about the pill are misinformed. For all the positives you credit it with - you've failed to mention the negatives. Increased risk of cancers especially cervical, not to mention the excess of hormones in a woman's system - that's just the start. You've also failed to mention its not a one stop solution for females as you keep implying.

there's that signature bitterness and insulting that we've come to expect from sketchy etchy.

birth control pills have a tiny, tiny link to cervical cancer.

http://www.cdc.gov/cancer/cervical/basic_info/risk_factors.htm

Almost all cervical cancers are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), a common virus that can be passed from one person to another during sex. There are many types of HPV. Some HPV types can cause changes on a woman’s cervix that can lead to cervical cancer over time, while other types can cause genital or skin warts.
HPV is so common that most people get it at some time in their lives. HPV usually causes no symptoms so you can't tell that you have it. For most women, HPV will go away on its own; however, if it does not, there is a chance that over time it may cause cervical cancer.
Other things can increase your risk of cervical cancer—

  • Smoking.
  • Having HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) or another condition that makes it hard for your body to fight off health problems.
  • Using birth control pills for a long time (five or more years).
  • Having given birth to three or more children.
  • Having several sexual partners.

Many medicines have side effects. Birth control pills are no exception.

So now we pay more but it's ok cuz Uncle Sam says so.

You don't need Viagra and shouldn't have to pay for it. I don't need birth control pills. Those should be options. Like automatic or manual transmission. Cd or MP3 player or both. Viagra nor birth control is anything close to a seat belt. Diabetes, yes. Cancer, yes. Also, driving a car is a choice. Having health insurance is not.

Please stop with the car analogies. While both are insurance(though one could argue health insurance is no longer insurance), one is completely voluntary(you aren't forced to own a car). The other is by force.
you can opt out of health insurance if you'd like at your own peril..because this time it's not cars..it's you and it's proven that people left to their own devices will choose "ER" and leave the bill for the hospital to charge off.. and you and i to absorb through higher costs throughout the system..if we circumvent perhaps creigh deeds' son would have gotten a bed at the psych ward instead of clogging the system with people who use ER as doctor visits..ER is the only place you can be seen without payment upfront and everybody knows this hence, the abuse..

I love those commercials. One of my fav is for chantix to quit smoking. The side effects they read off are exactly what you'd feel if you quit smoking cold turkey.

Or an allergy medicine with the same side effects as having allergies.

And you can't forget all the lovely prescriptions that say may cause death.

To be fair, I will absorb the costs for you. You are subsidized and pay nothing while I pay 800 a month. No subsidies.

And we are discussing birth control and Viagra. Not ER visits. That's a whole different barrel of monkeys. Also, cost for insurance was supposed to go down. Overall it's not. So pooling together isn't helping anything so far.

It's the Drug Barn. That's right! The Drug Barn. Bigger and better than ever! Over ri'cher, we have the Medicare Part-D isle. And here is the Catholic isle. Over here is the Organix isle and Christian Scientists. Young Mothers here. Young Fathers here. Well, you can see it goes by decades of age, color, ethnicity and creed. And the penalty for being in the wrong isle is not severely punitive, at first.

Then we have the Baby isle, and the recreational isle. And over here we even have a poor isle. You don't money in the poor isle, beyond retail for such as aspirin and Pepto. However a $10 co pay does apply for the named and human brands.

And of course in the back here is the Cadillac isle. Everything is 2x the price but there is a bit more of it.

And behind this locked door is the Plan X, isle, by invitation only. What? Oh no. I don't know how you get an invite. OK. Interview is over, thank you.
I have some business I must attend to....yes, in Plan X. Well, I'm an employee. All employees of the Drug Barn are in Plan X.

Bye now, and ya'll come back!

Is this past present or future?

I have no experience with allergy drugs, but I can tell you that Chantix side effects are real. Those things cause flashes of rage that I have never experienced otherwise. When I was taking that shit I experienced momentary blackouts when I got aggravated. They were not pretty. One time I blacked out and when I regained consciousness it came to light that I had almost thrown a screwdriver through someone's eye; another time I started trying to punch through a vehicle's window and escape without provocation. The day I stopped taking Chantix, the blackouts stopped.

On the upside, I didn't even think about tobacco the entire time.

Seeing as a major cause of cervical cancer is certain HPV strains; would it be unreasonable to attribute the increased cervical cancer rate to sex without condoms?

Wow. Fuck that. I'm glad it stopped once you stopped taking it. Had to be scary as hell.

Any long term effects from it other than smoking cessation?
