you are a paradox; you quote my friend, Jefferson, which I like. But, you're methods of reasoning are askew. no one insinuated the bible authors lined up the chapter improperly; rather, what I suggested was that they were not intending to write linear-chronologically. Verse does lend itself to the bending of time.
Further, to assert that "the timing is all screwed up" because of the early discussion of the Trinity in Genesis is to read literally (and linear-chronologically, again). The opposite of what you say you do. you forward a claim based on a literal reading, then say you never read scriptures literally. Now, it might be asserted that my ego is very sensitive because I interpret your statements about egotism vis-a-vis biblical interpretation as directed towards me, personally. I can only deny this, pointing to a persistent commitment to good logical reasoning as my primary motivation: I hoped only to clarify that we are not, actually, in alignment in our stances and assertions.
It can get confusing for sure.

I do start my O Ps with a literal interpretation as my targets are literalists. They need correcting more than most.

As a Gnostic Christian, I do not rad or believe any scripture literally. Not even Gnostic ones. Some of the straight wisdom saying can be made sense with literal interpretation.

Yes. This is a discussion and debate forum. No?

I have many things to discus with them of a moral nature.

debate and discussion imply the possibility for both sides to be moved towards a clearer understanding of one another, not just to arrive at an "answer' or "Truth." Baiting someone unlikely to engage critically with your bait seems a poor way to involve yourself in either discussion or debate. Rather, it seems like you're trying to pick a fight with someone to show him/her how "illogical" or "wrong" he/she is on a matter of faith. sounds a bit more like at attempt at stroking your own ego, than expanding a communal understanding of spirituality...

I agree on the ego, not on your last.

It is my view that all right wing literalists and fundamentals hurt allof us who are moral religionists, --- as well as those who do not believe.Literalists hurt their parent religions --- and everyone else, be he a believeror not. Literalists and the right wing of religions make us all into laughingstocks. Their God of talking animals, genocidal floods and retribution has gotto go. So must beliefs in fantasy, miracles and magic. These are all evil.

For evil to grow my friends, all good people need do is nothing.
Fight them when you can. It is your duty to our fellow man.

If you think nothing is what we should do, then you are not much of a moral man.

We CREATED God in OUR image...
then made ourselves believe it was the other way around.
This is a very profound statement... and really if you think about it...
We created GODS... there are multiple gods... it says we are created in GODS image...
So... many gods created by man....
Check...

Major religions work on the same level as the fraudsters who pretend they can contact a Mothers dead son
or a Daughters dead father....
I would agree with this... Most = 51% or more in my book....
Check...

Tricking someone who is desperate to be tricked cannot be too difficult.
Lying to a person who begs to be lied to doesn't even feel dishonest.
"Will I see him today in 'Glory'..."
"Yes you will" says the pastor as the dying man grasps his last breath...Sounds like one of Mans 27 lies[on average] he tells daily...

The concept of God and the afterlife performs the same function for adults
as Santa Claus and fairy tales do for children.
Maybe it's time the entire human race grew up?
No... Only the ones that believe in Fairy Angel God Mother Holy Mother of God, son and amen...
