Hello RIU'ers

2014 season kicked off with a good selection: Durban Poison x 2, Chernobyl x 3, Dr Who x 3, Northern Lights Auto Blue x 1, La Bella Afrodita x 1, Cotton Candy x 1, AMS x 1, Vietnamese Landrace x multiple, & Laos Landrace x multiple. Strongest survives with the landraces.

I usually start in 5 gall buckets and finish in same, but got this year have decided to start small and upcan. Soil is local stuff bagged up and I settled for a mix of the really swampy black stuff from the Delta mixed with a red airy potting mix. Seeds are germed between paper towels, or for the local seeds, just dropped in soil and watered.

Water is used from the tap here and usually it has been sitting out for at least a day to get rid of chlorines though I have watered straight from hose in a pinch. Nothing fancy...Not my first time btw.

hey mate where abouts in asia are you?

Is it Very strict laws for growing in asia ? I wouldn't risk it if it is punishable by death!

Lets just keep it that I am in Asia and this is only for personal stash and the enjoyment of growing quality herb over locally sold "pigs food" (which the local expats seem to enjoy). I will say that police here are much more concerned with the heroin problem and not a few plants grown for personal consumption.

Those are easily the prettiest pots I've ever seen cannabis grown in.

Whatever works right. I have to say that the ceramic pots did grow some nice stuff and they are not expensive at all here. The buckets ($5 for 10) were harder to find than ceramics.

This is 1 of 2 things, either a Vietnamese Central Highland Landrace or a Laos Landrace. Looks very similar to pictures of what Real Seed Co. sold as Highland Laos. It has been in a pot since September last year and it vegged for 3 months outside before it showed flowers. I think the fact that it has gotten taller than outer wall around roof, it is getting affected by the street lights at night. Anyway, I am letting it go to see the structure of flowers. Would easily be more than 10 ft tall if it hadnt been topped ~6 times and then supercropped.

Well the AMS didnt make it and to be honest I am not real impressed with GHS. Bought a Rasta Pack from Attitude and if they even got out of the soil, they proceeded to shit themselves. Ok good riddance for future reference

That looks a lot like the local strain they grow on my island. I'm not sure if you can call the pot grown here a "land race".

They are only fed tap water which is set out for ~24 hours to de-chlorinate. I have 1/2 dozen aloe plants and some other local herbs which I have started to make tea's with mixed up with compost I started last year. Previous years I was just using tomato food sparingly when plants were hungry, but am moving towards what is available naturally.

I'm on a tiny island called Saipan, I wouldn't be surprised if you've never heard of the place XD but it's right around southeast Asia out in the pacific.

I know where Saipan is, but not sure about weather there and thats out in the Western Pacific, not really ~near SE Asia . Where I am it is between 20c lows with 40c highs. There is no winter to speak of.

Well it's around 70-80 f year round I'm surprised you've heard of it though you have family over here? In all honesty I believe that future mass production of marijuana will be in places near the equator because of the basically 12/12 year round light cycle. I have a sort of outdoor sog going where the plants are vegged indoors and cycled out when they go outside. Police here is a joke to say the least. How are things around you? No winter here either although I do miss the snow.
