Time to throw in the towel?

Plants don't grow at 40c get your temps down...no amount of soil amendments will help you the problem is obvious

I disagree on this!! I am a newbie and made a mistake by starting in small cups. I killed 7 of 8 seedlings with too much water. Yes I had drainage.

Now I have started in 3 gal pots from seed. Plants are fine.

Never understood the reason to start in small pots and than transplant with it's inherent shock to the plant. I think that we get too involved in trying to grow a weed ! KISS.

In nature (and mother nature grows some great bud !) seeds start out in a very large pot, the earth !!

Just my opinion.

YMMV
Excessive amounts of moist soil with no life in it stays moist you start in a small pot to avoid a soggy growing environment. Plants do not get shocked by transplanting they respond graciously, unless you drop them but even then s plant is hard to shock

lol. I just read the above post
RE converting Celsius to Fahrenheit.
104f is extreme.
I glossed over it because im a Fahrenheit

your soil is too moisture retentive. you can either take the plant out, roots and all and mix some perlite in with your soil or let it go and hope for the best. if it were mine i wouldn't hesitate to transplant it. remember plants take in oxygen from their roots and if it can't breath it slows down the metabolic rate. good luck. let me know if you need more help.

Guys Ive been growing my plant for a month and its still very very small.
The other day the pot got knocked over and she fell out, he roots looked a bit brown.
I replanted in a bigger pot but I think I might just start over? I was planning on vegging for 2 months then budding for 2 but at this rate its going to be a small harvest.
I think it may also be a male plant :(

Im thinking just chuck this plant outside and let it just do what ever it wants and I start a new plant in here with a new growing medium.

so what do you guys think I should do?

also some pics for reference
I was on my phone earlier so I just wanted to pop back in. 22-29c is where you want to be (that is about 71-85 for you F-ing guys) alo I would ask about your watering technique I would suggest when you water to be sure you flood the top of the pot so the water soaks through evenly wetting the whole pot. Remember over watering is watering too often not the amount of water used. A lot of newbies tend to only water right around he base of the plant not giving the roots anywhere to go some only use a spray bottle and that's not helpful, you need to dump that water on and let it soak the whole pot. What makes you think it is a male, your lack of confidence? there is no way to tell yet,, really for a month of growth under cfls your not far off

"I NEVER UNDERSTOOD....."

Here's the reason why it's better to transplant into GRADUALLY increasing sized pots.

The roots grow to the edges, then down - filling the central area of the pot is the last, and most slow part, of the root ball formation.
By stepping up gradually the plant ends up with a much better proportioned, much healthier root ball.

The guy who explained it to me used much more convincing language
but I cannot find his post!

Understood. However with proper soil inc. something like perlite to keep it airy and with drainage holes my water willexit the bottom and soil doesnot seem to stay too moist. Just my experience.

Never heard this but I do not doubt you. As mentioned I started in big pots and all is well. Who knows maybe if I did a side by side comparo I would get better yield with your method. Unfortunately it's a small personal grow so i am grateful for what I am seeing.
Wish I hit the Mega Millions so I could stay at home, play with the horses and do lots of horticultural stuff but that is not the case.

At least not yet.

...Like... this is another point I have started to leave out of the transplanting conversation because of all of the controversy it normally starts but it is true you end up with a fuller healthier rootball and prevent your plant from drowning and growing slow until it catches up to the size pot your using.... I start in a 3-4" round pot theafter 2 weeks it is up to a 3/4- 1 gallon then a 5-7-or 10.. at least a 1 gallon to start no bigger if you really have a problem with transplanting. But again they love it, it is not stressful

You said your self you killed your seedling from over watering. It had nothing to do with the cup. One reason I start seedlings in cups is so when I transplant I can burry any stretchy stems. I also don't want a small plant with an under developed root system sitting in a huge amount of medium.

As long as you don't wait for the plant to become root bound and transplant early enough you get no transplant "shock" or slower rate of growth. Especially when using a product like mykos during transplant.

I get its just a weed, and any dumb ass with some dirt and water can grow cannabis, then there's people like me that grow straight dank from years of experience and always willing to learn something new

No offense taken. I am a NEWBIE !

Just sharing my one grow experience not claiming to be an expert. What ever works, works.

Yes, and I respect your vast experience. I was just saying what I am doing and it works FOR ME.

Not to be snotty but mother nature does not transplant to bigger pots !

Different strokes and all. Are you suggesting if I go from solo to one gal and soon I will have greater yield, better bud or just a better likelihood of success. I'm all for learning!!

So you keep those 45w CFL's within a couple inches of the top of the plant? With those buggers, if you want your plant to stretch a little and grow some space between the nodes, just raise the lights a little bit for now. And you can be surprised at the amount of growth you can get in 4 weeks. Good luck!

I started out with CFL's, had a similar problem. They'll take off soon, and remember when you switch to flower, they'll most likely double in size in the first few weeks of flower. Don't let haters derail you, just learn, continue to post here, and do your best to weed through the good and bad advice. It's all about learning at this point, very few people pull off flawless grows their first time around, though it does occasionally happen.

had a purple haze plant that never grew over 3inches after 2 months, decided to just leave it in the tent....it ended up no bigger than a foot long and ended up being just 1 massive bud that weighed nearly 2oz...was by far the heavyest smoke of all the plants too!!

Yeah man, there are a BUNCH of reasons to start out in a cup, covering stretched stems is one of them.

If you transplant properly, there is no stress at all. Plant wont even recognize it has been moved.

Every post i see you make is either incorrect or unhelpful
Out of curiosity, are you Dutch or just a miserable cunt ?
Well, what did I say that you disagree with. By all means give me an education.
Point out anything I have said wrong, by all means.

You sound a little butthurt, are you gay or just a punk?

You get most things wrong it would save me time to point out when you get something correct.
I normally skip past you in the same way i would skip past Hazey grapes

i wondered why your tone is so negative and condescending to newbies , i thought maybe this guy is dutch
dutch people are often mistaken for being rude when they are just direct rather than lacking manners

so i pose the question are you a direct Dutchman or a miserable cunt
am i the first person to ask you why you are so negative ?
i would be quite surprised if i was

not sure why you would think i am "butthurt" this is the first time we have spoken
perhaps you do not even realize how you come across Hazey grapes was the same

why you felt the need to write the stuff about gays and punks is beyond me

peace
