Just another example of how this law violates our constitutional rights to reasonable access. Why do we even need a doctors permission to use an herbal medicine? When is the last time someone had to find the 1 out of every 100 doctors that would allow them to use ginger root legally? How about this scenario...an old guy goes to his doctor and says his sleeping pills are causing unwanted side effects. It's determined that drinking a glass of wine before bed helps him sleep and is easier on his body. Being a low income senior, the old guy decides that making his own wine is the only way he can afford it. Everything is going fine until Big Brother steps in an says he must stop. They speak of horror scenarios where gangs of other old men might steal his wine and do unspeakable things to his family, the imminent catastrophic fires that will erupt due to the practice of wine making in a dwelling house now being illegal and the national security risk that mold poses. The government orders him to pour out all his wine, destroy his equipment and buy his wine from a source they approve. He doesn't know if the wine is red or white or if it tastes like vinegar, but he has to sign a contract agreeing to buy exclusively from that one wine maker for a year and be forced to pay what ever price they demand. Sounds crazy, right?
