I'd love to see this proof, lol. That's one of the most ignorant things I've read on RIU to date. If you let your plants flower too long all trichs will turn amber. It's actually degradation of trichomes your seeing.I can even show you "proof" that that amber trich is really CBD.. Which we all know it's THC-a, right?? oh fuck! you don't? *face palm*
Many people harvest after their special ratio of amber/clear/cloudy, that's because after some amber trichs pop up it's assumed that the plant is nearing its most resinous state and it's not likely any new trich development or plant maturity will take place. By your logic if every plant was chopped really late it defies it's own strain and starts pumping out CBD.
Could peak CBD and other compound development happen later than that of when THC potency is at its peak? It's possible, but if so, it's still got absolutely nothing to do with the color of trichomes.
