Looking GREAT Mucky! I've 2 C99's just 2 weeks into flower right now- also Female Seeds from Attitude. I've 2 very similar phenos, and they both look like yours, just a few weeks behind. So unfortunately I can't offer much, but I am subscribed and stoked to see how these turn out for you- and to learn a thing or 2 in the process.:bigjoint:

Also, I think you're doing the right thing as far as keeping an eye on things and chopping when you know its right. Always good to have other people's opinions/experience in mind, and the breeder's suggested harvest day too, as you make the call. But every grow is different. Yours looks great. Best of luck now that you're in the home stretch! And also, what do they smell like? Got the grapefruit pheno?!
Hi Elkamino. Wow, another happy sounding C99 grower! I believe I picked a good strain this time. This is a great hobby. I am always learning and always trying to correct past mistakes. I have done years of lurking around here myself so feel free to chime in and chat a little anytime.. Since you are just a couple of weeks on flower I thought I would mention that C99 can get these single ball looking thingies where the larger stems branch… I read a lot of different posts and most hollered HERMIE! I noticed them at the beginning of flower followed these ‘balls’ though the flower cycle.. When they first appeared I could see 1 or 2 very fine ‘hairs’ but then a few days later the hairs were gone. A week or so later the hairs were back and I could now tell that they were pistils. My grow is almost complete now and those small single swollen buds are still there.. looking just about the same as they did when I first spotted them. So…. If you see something like that on your C99’s don’t make a rush to judgment.

The smell….. For me they have a sweet citrus or spice smell… the best smelling plant I have grown so far. I grew some Super Skunk once and they had a scary strong smell that even with a scrubber I imagined?? I could smell it outside… not so with the c99. No smell in the room unless I open the tent.

I do check my trichs every once in a while, but not real often anymore. When I do check them, I'm looking for cloudy and clear, and I'm lookking at the bud only the leaves mean nothing. Its very common for leaves to get damaged which will make the trichs appear amber. This can happen on the buds also, so try to be gentle. I try to just read the plants and make a decision based on trich appearance, pistil appearance, whether the calyxs seem swollen and the bud has filled out. I think from what you've said, and the pictures on the last pages from a couple days ago that what your figuring is just right. Knowing the way the Cindy finishes up I think your gonna be very happy in another 1.5-2 weeks.

Also I'm all for experiments, you might take one plant at 48-49ish days, and let one go longer or something like that. I was kinda thinking from the pics on the last page that you might have both phenos. Is this picture of a different plant the the others?

It looks a little more "full", and like it has a bit less bud leaf. This picture reminds me of the pheno I wanted to keep. If I'm correct that this is a different plant and pheno, and if its the same as the one I had you can totally cut that one around 49 it will be GREAT!

That is actually the bud that I cut a few days ago to test and it started to change color and ripen first. I have 6 plants but I can’t tell which plants most of the buds come from. I had to supercrop them after they were in flower and scrog them. I now have the main stems which are 18-24” long crisscrossing under the screen. I believe I do have 2 phenos though. A lot of the other buds followed it in ripening.. it almost looks like I have to different varieties.

I believe I will chop the more mature ones in a few days. I am interested in sampling different strains and quality over quantity so this should be a good experiment.

Maybe Thundercat is right about first day of flower should be with pistils. But hey,i was told this by man who should flower only when plant is mature and that is day 28 for C99,maybe 30.
You flipped at day 21 so it makes sense to wait for pistils.

Another moment, article i gave you clearly shows that for sativa dominant plant maximum potency reached at 20-30% cloudy and moslty clear.

I bought loop only few days ago so im not so experienced at checking trichomes. But you must recognise milky and clear trichomes.DO NOT check leaves, they mature earlier than bud.

The last thing,we discuss not only when trichomes mature in general, but we talk about very unique plant with unique high which (already 3 people confirmed) after day 52 is very different.)

BTW i had 2 seeds and 2 phenos too.Tall one was first, now more compact one now at 3week of flower.

Wonderful strain...

Hi, I sampled a small bud yesterday. I had cut it to check the trics about a week ago and left it to dry. It really had a different uplifting high compared to what I have been vaping. I rechecked the bud I have drying now with a loop and this time I think I could see a cloudy mix in with the clear so I plan to cut the mature looking ones in a few days. I really appreciate the input.

I just went through your whole grow again. Amazing stuff man!

Your plants just sprinted the whole way through!

Now I want ebb & flow too! hahaha
I liked your hempy grow too. The biggest issue with an ebb&flo like mine is the height. My tent is 7 feet tall but after subtracting the space for the light and the space for the ebb&flo I only had 3.5 feet of safe growing height. Now, even with the SCROG the tips of the highest buds are 4 feet off of the floor... Of course it is nice not to have to bend over to work with them.:-P

Also, tell me more about your water! Do you use RO?
For me RO has really made a big difference compared to the tap water I used to use. The plants seem to love it and it is so much easier to control the PPM and PH levels. I bought a 150 gal per day RO unit for around $130.00 US and set it under my bathroom sink. Hookup was easy, 1/8" tubing, the input self tapped into the cold water. It also has to drain the bad water it filters out. I had to drill a small hole in my drain pipe to attach it.

You could get an adapter for your shower to supply the water and just let the bad water go down the shower drain. Since it takes quite a while to get a gallon of RO if you hook the 1/8 inch output tube to a small float valve attached to a container of some sort you would always have your water waiting to be used.

Oh, you also have to have ample water pressure for an RO filter.. I don't remember what is was so be sure to check that if you go with RO.... i believe 35 PSI or so is the minimum?? The gal per day drops with the water pressure so I would guesstimate my 150 GPD unit could produce maybe 90 GPD or so.

Yeah, I've been looking alot into water quality. It really looks like it makes some big difference over the long run.

I don't know if I'm going to invest in a RO system so soon though. I really want to... But I don't swim in money yet =P

Would a brita filter do a good job you reckon? or would you rather go with distilled water with cal-mag?

My tap water is not bad, but I rather give them the best I can afford right now...

IMHO don't waste your money on a Brita filter. Save your money for RO or do without since you said you really don't have a water problem anyway. Also, in my area some of the local stores like Wallyworld have RO machines in front of the store for a few cents a gal. I did a quick Google search and only found negative comments. Ebay has RO filters similar to the one I got for $129 US delivered.

$129 RO filter on ebay

Google Search for Brita filters in hydroponics

These are some of the comments I found.

They mess up your PH.. There are reports that it will bring your PH down but it will quickly climb back up in a day.

Carbon filters mostly just remove part of the chlorine.... Letting your water sit out overnight will do the same thing.

They become ineffective after using 100 gal of water.... Your total cost can quickly rise if you use a lot of water.

It won't bring the ppm down... Only a reverse osmosis filter will bring down tds. Brita filters will actually raise the ppm because you're adding in carbon and it doesn't have a small enough micron filter to filter out that carbon. It removes some chlorine and metals that are in the water like copper, lead, mercury.

The bud I cut and hung 3 days ago was dry enough to test a piece of it in my Vape. I was surprised that the usual green grass flavor in uncured bud was barely noticeable. The result was a heavy hitting sativa, much heavier than the last white widow harvest I have been vaping.

I am going to harvest all of the mature looking ones right now. Quite a few have acquired these big swollen buds.

This is the bud that I hung and dried for 3 days.

These are what I cut today. I think I will harvest a few every couple of days as they get ripe… like I do with the fruit tree in my back yard. :-P

The bottom bud was the one that I hung for 3 days.

Female seeds confirmed that C99 is 50day strain.
Basically the THC level will be at it's peak at around 50 days and after that the THC will slowly start converting to CBD.
So, the longer you leave them going, the higher the CBD will become.

How old is yours Mucky? Mine looked less mature at 52days... Youve seen many amber trichomes?
Today they are 45 days from first bloom set or 52 days from 12/12. I believe the ones that I cut today are very close to their peak. The calyxes on these have swollen a lot in the past 3 days and the pistils have mostly receded. There are almost no amber trichs on the calyxes. I can mostly spot them just on the edges of some of the green sugar leaves that had to be left on the bud.

This is a closeup of the bud I tested.

Nice looking grow! Sorry I missed it.
Always nice to meet another growing duck!
Me?? A DUCK? I’m not a duck but I do like your avatar… looks yummy… I do like that c99 too. I have been vaping from the same bowl most of the afternoon. Now if you’ll excuse me I have the munchies and I’m fixing to chow down on some quackers.

I made you go out and buy a new camera. Now guess what... You made me go out and order a set of C99 seeds! xD I've been loving it and studying it. And finally, I just couldn't resist =P

Thanks for the water tips! Helped!

Keep on rockin' it

You're welcome Jad3... and thank you for the information to help me choose a camera.... Have fun with the c99. My packet came with instructions to keep it in the refrigerator until ready to germinate... I did and all of my seeds popped.... I remember reading that putting or storing seeds in the refrig first helps germination because the change from cold to warm signals some plants that it is time.... that it is time to start growing man!:-P This applies to many different plants, not just cannabis.

These few buds were not as full as yesterday. I should have waited until tomorrow for them but I didn't so here they are!
