Considering Gativa, looking for feedback

I have an area 2.9m x 2.0m x 2.1m that I need to make a lighting decision for, I plan on having 4 lights for this space; I intend on running CO2 so the space will be sealed. I've been considering open reflectors (like the Hortistar 600) along with remote ballasts or Gativa Pro 600 SE. I am planning on growing short plants in 3 gal pots placed on raised platforms, I have 240v power on hand and, I have the ability to cool the room (15k btu a/c on hand to take care of that).

I'm just wondering if there is anything I haven't thought of. I have the opportunity to buy vented hoods/bulbs/ballasts for just a little bit more, I'd rather spend the extra $ if there is a concern about burn with my plants and the mounting height of the lights.

Any imput from people with open lighting is appreciated.

Some people brag and brag and brag about them. I never saw any results that make limiting my choice of bulbs worth it. Not to mention the fucking cost. Fuck Europe. Do they have legal grow ops? No. Do are legal grow ops run gativas? No.

Oh btw. If your looking for a non AC reflector. Testing shows the ultra sun Ii by hydro farm is where it's at. And they are only $35

Google greeners AC hood test or review or whatever. You will find it

One thing I like about Gavita Pro lighting is the bulb, they aren't cheap but they last much longer than your average HPS bulb.

I don't think the cost is all that crazy for a Pro 600 SE, I can buy them locally for under $400. If I were to buy a high quality ballast like a Solis-Tek I'd spend $225-250, a Hortilux Super HPS runs about $80 (and gets replaced every 4-5 months), then I have to buy a reflector which will cost $30-50. My savings will be null the first time I have to replace a bulb, replacing the reflector will make it even more costly.

i was considering a cheap route using 600 watt remote ballasts, Hortilux bulbs and, cheap reflectors; but I don't know what to go with nowadays. I here shit about every company out there from every person I know that is associated with indoor growing.

I scored 10 brand new solis tells for 180 each. Horti 1k $65.

If you toss an HPS out earlier than a year you should do some reading. They do not degenerate that quickly. MH. Yeah, but not HPS. I would LOVE to find some of these people locally that change bulbs every 2nd grow. Crazy stupid.

You did forget however that you would have a nice hot ballast in your room with the gativa. And what about the cost of the gavita bulbs? 100 a pop is what I have seen. And do they even have a metal halide?

I like mine. Theres plenty of reasons to choose gavita. Not sure about the 600's but the 1000de needs some extra ceiling height because the ballast is sort of tall.

Sorry I thought 1k not 600

Solis ballast, GE lucolux bulb, xtra sun II reflector. $270. Done and done.

But whatevs, many ways to grow. Environmental control is more
Important than the brand of ballast/hood.

Cocky AND uninformed. Great combo.

Britain isn't even on the map in terms of cannabis export.

He's misinformed but your lack of tact sort of provoked a reaction.
The Dutch are big on Gavitas and they have a history of producing maximum results from piss poor resources.
Not just cannabis but growing vegetables and fruit that really shouldn't grow so Northerly.
Half the country is reclaimed from the North Sea but they still manage to make it fertile.

In my experience every person who needs to brag about national issues does so because they have no personal issues to feel good about.
At the end of the day 99.999% of people have the nationality they have due to an accident of birth.
Patriotism - the last resort of a scoundrel (and a fairly desperate attempt at self vindication).

Lmao. The funny thing is you two taking it so seriously. Like it really matters. I gave the guy decent input. More than 90% of the marketing on hoods and ballasts and bulbs is complete hype/bullshit anyways. So where is the ACTUAL data that shows that dual end bulbs have a slower par degeneration rate compared to standard mogul based bulbs?

Sorry, but arguing for a particular ballast or bulb is about as dumb as thinking that your brand of hardware is the most important component of producing very high quality buds.

At least we know that British people can't take a joke.
