Burglar's relative says: "He could have used a warning shot first..."

just the fact that you acknowledge a line rather than actively work to blur it is enough for me.
Oh there's definitely a line. If I didn't have one, then I likely would have been in court for actually shooting the 18yo that tried to steal my plants last season. Seeing as he was clearly not a threat; I deemed it more prudent to let him run.

Sometimes bad things happen to criminals during the conduct of their crimes. Getting popped while engaging in a violent felony is a mitigating factor for the popper. Considering how your sympathies are aligned, that might stick in your craw a bit but most of us don't share your knee jerk outlook. You probably should stay out of Texas.

This one surprises me a bit. From the little I know of this case, and it is VERY little, it sounded like this was murder or at least manslaughter. The fact that the jury has been deliberating for two days surprises me.

This is your opportunity to tell us how sub-human southerners are, Buck. Your bigotry never fails to amuse me.

"A north Florida jury resumed deliberations for a second day on Thursday in the trial of a middle-aged software engineer who shot and killed a black teenager in an argument over rap music blaring from the youth's car."

Unloaded on a car of teens because they were acting like asshole high-schoolers. That truly looks damning for the shooter.

Had you lost your cool and taken the shot, you would be living with that decision the rest of your life.
Much respect for you, KP

I wouldn't shoot someone stealing my car, because there's no human dwelling inside my car, therefore the intention of the robber can't be to kill or assault me or my loved ones. If the same robber is breaking into my home, his intentions could very well be to harm me or my loved ones. I have no way of knowing whether or not his intention is to steal or cause harm or both, and I will act accordingly, AKA shoot first, ask questions later. My 'warning shot' involves blowing your dick off, do you really wanna be 'warned'?

Amazingly enough, if you don't break into peoples' homes, you won't get shot by a homeowner trying to prevent you from breaking into their home.

Well done IMO.

Saved the tax payer some dollars, and more than likely, saved some poor citizen from being subjected to criminal predation by the sorry piece of worm food formerly known as "Deyfon".

Good job Texan!

She looked confused...
We were sitting at a table 10 feet from front door...
Two cops live two doors down...
I don't usually lock my doors...
I feel pretty safe....
If I would have been up at the door, when she reached her hand/arm into the house, I would have slammed in in the door...
Luckily I was chill...
----
When she walked back out down stairs, she walked around to drive way, and looked down the drive...
She looked harmless... however...
WTF
You explained it all when you said SHE.

I thought the name rang a bell, so I looked it up. I remember that case. Some people pick up a gun and think they're John Wayne. That guy came out there with that shotgun looking for trouble. He became an aggressor the moment he left his house and pointed a gun at people outside without any clear risk of severe bodily harm or death. However, it is vastly different from pointing a gun at someone who is already inside your home.
Bullshit!

That individual was trying to STOP sorry piece of shit thieves that were robbing the fuck out of his g'damn neighbor. Those worthless bastards could have dropped the loot, and walked away with hands raised, but they didn't, and they rightfully got shot for trying to call out a man holding a shotgun.

FUCK those guys too!

IMO, using deadly force should be reserved for protecting yourself from possible deadly force.

Shooting someone in the back is not protecting your, or your neighbour's life.

A list of things that don't warrant deadly force;

Kids hitting a mailbox with a bat
A toddler on his big wheels bumping into my car
Someone stealing something from my yard (or my neighbour's yard)
Dogs fucking on my lawn. (Even though it is my castle or castle's yard)

Sounds like they were trying to run according to the undercover that was watching it go down. Go ahead and talk about gunning down unarmed people like killing is something to be celebrated. If you go out of your way to shoot someone who is clearly not a threat to you, then there is something wrong with you.
