What strain for a newbie first indoor grow?

I get completely bewildered when I look at the variety of seeds on offer online so am wondering if anyone can just recommend a good first grow strain. Once I get going I'll be happy to experiment, but to start with I'm after something easy.

Indoor grow under LED lights, small attic space with 5 foot height, going to grow 3 plants to start with. Just after something strong but not too mongy, reasonable THC to CBD balance. Not too fussed otherwise as here in the UK we never get much choice when buying from others, so we'll vap anything really!

I was gonna say go with bag seed, but in the UK I doubt MEXICAN shit weed even exist, but if I where you I'd go with an Autoflower

id go with a good northern lights cross, that's a very easy strain to do for newbees. Jorge Cerventas recommends the same. I know there are lots of strains but id focus on a more indica dominant since sativas are extremely finiky feeders and newbs almost always overwater and over fertilize. also you should consider the yield factor. a good northern lights crossed with a skunk should get you a decent yield for the time and dollars you will invest from start to finish...

^^^i'm with tooteefrootee on this, a standard classic strain to learn on is Northern Lights; but i cut my teeth on nirvana's white rhino (don't get started on the controversy in this strain's genealogical history) and found it to be extremely hardy, forgiving, and potent with low growing odor until the last three weeks or so of flower. so i'd recommend that as well, but typically northern lights croses will be your top response; indeed, white widow crosses (like my white rhino) would also probably work well.
be easy,

If I was newbie I'd set up and grow melons. When the melons are doing good I'd go ahead with the weed seeds.

Heres a link to a UK seedbank mate. 24 hour delivery, and dnt have to go through customs.
Ive had very good germination rate from their seeds,no complaints.NL is a great strain, easy to grow,
and a good smoke.
As smokefacekillah suggested,an automatic strain is good for newbs.I started with them almost 3 years ago
and am just doing my first regular grow now.Autos can be ready in 9-10 weeks if you use mainly indica strains.
Good luck on your first grow spannerhead.http://www.justfeminized.com/justfeminized---auto-northern-lights-feminized-4785-p.asp

Another option would be to go with an autoflower first to help you get your systems and methods dialed in. I started off with Lowryder 2 on my first grow, and that's what I would recommend to a new grower. Those might be about the easiest thing you can grow and the smoke isn't bad either. Do a grow or two with that to get your feet wet, then move on to the other strains would be my recommendation.

dont do an auto, you wont learn much lol. if you want quickness just go 12/12 from seed. i agree though.. northern lights is pretty low odor and easy to maintain. spiritual punk is a great strain by Samsara seeds. was pretty quick. 100% indica.. northern lights x mazar is the cross.. it was a really surprising freebie.

Everyone has their own opinion, but I'm not sure how you can say that you won't learn much from growing an auto. I disagree with that sentiment. You will learn all the basics of gardening such as how to germinate, how and when transplant, how to care for your plant (watering schedule, feeding, etc.), when and how to harvest, drying, curing, etc. In my opinion there is quite a bit you can learn from growing an auto on your first grow, and the autos that I've grown seemed a little more forgiving of rookie mistakes. Maybe the OP isn't looking to grow an auto, which is completely fine, but I just wanted to mention it to him as an option that he may not have thought of.
