Why do ALL the LED grows look so lame compared to HID?

Another led hating thread, nice! Sometime in the future hps growers are going to be slapping themselves in the head. I know because im currently slapping myself for still using hps!!

Strains and environment(yes including lights) have a lot to do with growth of plants. This is basic grower know how, learned from mistakes and improvements. I grow ogs that grow like vines, sometimes they grow very fast, sometimes they grow slow during veg.

As for lighting, this is a factor that i personally like to keep as minumum power consumption as possible, my lanky low yielding ogs will always yield below average no matter what type of light you use. So i rather keep my light bill as low as possible and NEVER use MH for vegging.

I have 3 vegging sites with two flowering sites because this is my way of having a harvest every other month.

buts these are the strains im happy with, 3-6 oz per plant with 1-2 month veg is ideal.
Yoda OG gettin her last haircut before she helps fill a 2x4 screen btw shes about 4 ft tall, shes kinda leaning in the pic so she looks smaller

Love my plasma/hps/led grown herb.
Im happy to report that in less then a week my hps is going to the trash, and i will be replacing it with a51 190s by the end of the month.

anyways hyroot jr, u should know better then debating with these dudes,

The butchering u are referring too will make evenly topped nugs, this is something most og growers do so we can avoid the pop corn nugs that most ogs tend to produce.

my advise to you is to top the 2'nd node when your plant has 4 or 5 nodes. Called unclebens topping. Will give you smaller plants with more main colas. That way, you can LOWER your lights and you won't have to worry about pop corn buds. Try it out. i will be doing this outdoors to see how much I can personally push a plant with roughly 4-5 feet of max height

I love my LEDs



grew with a 600W HPS for the first year or so, before I swap em with some 472W of LEDs

less power, heat, nutrients and water used and IMO more healthy plants, I enjoy em and also feel more safe (fire/coppers)
in short I would say you get 20% smaller Cola`s but at least as compact and more frosty and harvest is about the same, watt per gram the LEDs give the HPS a good run for its money, and if you like me is a small hobby grower that just need to keep myself with herbs its perfect, but its not magic and there are pros and cons like with every things els

I dont know if anyone recognizes the fact that I left the thread after the leo's got upset, I was called back in to supply a pic after I left and I did, after I supply a pic and give the details of my tent im told im bullshitting about my entire setup because I say my plants are 2' across at 6 weeks from the seed leaving the package and being planted, im told that they are only a foot tall and a foot across, anyone who grows knows how big 3.5 & 5 gallon buckets are, a plant that is 12" tall and 12" across wouldnt be draping over the bucket, notice mine are, however a plant that is 2' across would. Look at the bucket and then the plant, now a 3.5 gallon bucket with a plant that has tops growing 6" outside the rim of the bucket with a solid canopy of tops is 2' across, notice mine do that, those plants are 16" tall, 2' across with over 20 tops and you can barely make out a stem anywhere on the plant , as you can see. My plants are healthy as can be and if anyone thinks they wouldnt be as tall as hyroots and much, much fuller than his had I not topped them twice and trained them they are not being truthful or just dont understand plants. They dont make miniature 3.5 gallon buckets as far as I know. Had they not been topped and trained I would have grown 4 plants and flipped them 2 weeks ago because that would have filled my 4x4 tent. I will answer any questions or criticisms reguarding my pics, I dont need to argue, my pic is there and its easy to see im being truthful, look at the bucket and then the plant. Simple

Why people want to come in to sections and claim how much better their "other" light is always puzzles me.. who cares... you grow with HPS and love it, others will grow with LED and love it too... what does it really matter?

But I never once said hid is better, I said several times led's work great, I said if I had a warehouse grow I would use led and just do sog grows because led would be a better choice, but not for a person that needs as much bud as possible in the shortest period of time with very few plants.
