Grow tent set up questions/help/guidance???

Hi guys and girls.

So I just spent 390, I know I need a 6 inch fan and I need it to be quiet because I'm gonna be sleeping in the same area. So with that Iv spent 606 on my set up so far(I'm poor so that hurts), what do you guys think? What else do I need to get? I know ducting/hose clamps/tape but what else would I need to get? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I plan on doing 2 liter sog hempys for now.

From my calculations you are gonna need about $100 more for odds and ends, maybe more once you get at it. You need small things like a grounded outlet timer, one that does 15min intervals is nice. An oscillating fan or two, extension chords, outlet multipliers, measuring cups, buckets, Mylar, fisker scissors, a way to hang the lights and filter...etc.

The vortex s-line is equally loud if not louder than their regular line. I would just get the standard 449cfm for ~$150 either way it's going to be a turbine next you while trying to sleep.

Sdf - I don't have any fans yet, but I'm planning on just getting one for the filter/hood.

So there are a couple items that come to mind.....Carbon Filter (may not need it until flower), def fan or two for inside the tent, meters PH and PPM (maybe can get away with drops and no ppm), your food. Oh and you may need to invest in some ear plugs if your a light sleeper

you only need 1x 6in fan. It will suck in enough air though your passive flaps on the bottom. No need for an intake fan I've learned. Price on fan seems high, but if you sleep in the same room, I would get the quietest one available. I use 'chrome' duct tape from walmart and a hose clamp for my exhaust portion. I used 3 gal smart pots first go round, next time def 5 or even 7 gal pots. I bought a rough tote container for my reservoir and an air stone on an air pump (aquarium style) Other than that, looks great, you did your homework....

Hey rwbrock, I actually did get a carbon filter. I know I need an oscillating fan for the inside of the tent for sure. The PPM/PH meter I'm having trouble with. I want to get the dual Hanna 29801 (Sp) but they have a lot of bad reviews (Most on here) so I was thinking about going for the blulab trenchan (Sp) PPM meter for like 100 then buying PH strips for PH, I don't mind waiting 15 seconds with those strips. I still don't know what Nuts I'm gonna run yet but something that 420ifed or Xare run with Hempy. Trying to get this done as soon as possible since my stuff Is on it's way (So excited lol).

Yea, I see the inline fans for 80 bucks and I wish I could use it but I'm trying to get the quietest Inline fan on the market right now Vortex S-Line Ultra Quiet Fan 6". "Supposedly" that's the quietest but there are plenty of people that they aren't all that much quieter. For me if I have to spend the extra money for a fraction quieter then I have to. I wish I didn't. Ohh yea I'm running to wal mart as soon as all my stuff arrives. Like a kid on x mas ha.

Cool, I have never done hempy and grow in soil been using DG nutes but going to go all organic this run and see how it goes. There are some tricks to get the noise down....I ended up putting my fan in the attic in a box that I stuffed with insulation and even got a fan silencer that hooks up to the exhaust to help with noise. Def helped and I replaced my HID with LED so I can run my fan 1/2 speed. Trust me all this will add up as you grow....when I first started my friends said you will spend like 1K for a setup. I didn't think so at first but after you pick up things here and there it def starts to add up fast. Good news is it should pay for itself pretty quickly and once it becomes a hobby then it is all worth the money time and effort. I am in soil so I got by with cheapy meters just to give me a general idea of what I am working with. I also have a RO water system so that helps as well. Anyway, good luck!

May I recommend General Organics line of nutes? I am using it right now - it self regulates soil PH. (the girls seem to like it too)

EDIT - nvm just saw you were doing a hydro
