Pruning all fan leafs during veg

Defoliation can be a good thing, but not when you pluck every leaf.

I defoliate lightly in veg to open up the insides of the plant to more light.

I defoliate lightly again after the initial stretch in flower, and then again 2 weeks before chop.

if you pull enough leaves off not only will it decrease productivity but it can go into shock for weeks!

wow this is a hot subject

ok this is not good (5 gallon pots 3 days ago)

just make sure the soil dry before adding water (only water, no nutes) would only give each plant 1/2 gallon till they start drinking again

I also defoliated my plant heavy in veg, its not for everyone and often grower get it wrong and it leads to a lower yeild, lets sort your grow out :)
you have to veg for 2 weeks more, what nutes have you got and what you system you growing in ( hope its soil )

anyway this is one of my plants just before harvest, so don't go too mad at your friend but tell him not too do it again

Read my thread shithead. then call me a liar.
When I post something I can back it up with pic proof.
Defoliation is very controversial and I will not comment on it further as it usually leads to wars.
I have done it and it worked for me and thats that. (although I will not do it again)
You did it....
It was amazingly successful....
But you won't do it again.

Sounds plausible.

The fan leaves are the 'solar panels' of the plant.
Without them the plant cannot process much light/energy
which means stunted growth.
Defoliation has only been known to improve plants
when it's done at the VERY END of the flowering period.

This fucking joker is posting nonsense,
then making the initial moves towards changing his statement.

Or else why would anyone not repeat
a 'successful' method???

(He must be above the Arctic Circle
going slowly mad by living in constant darkness/light
with 2 wolves 3 bears and an autistic Eskimo!
Ignore him).

The theory behind defoliation is bigger yield, although it may work(I am carefully wording my words)it puts incredible stress on the plants. Almost every plant I have defoliated has hermi'd.

When I stated I had great success I did the buds were massive compared to just a normal grown plant but thats it she hermi'd so although it may work it is not worth it to me to do it again.
You should be in Sochi representing Canada....
(It's years since I witnessed such a fast BACKstroke).

My advice would be:

1. Let them veg for another 2 weeks before switching and see what grows back.

2. Find another friend.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahaahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha my god. This has got to be one of the funniest things I've seen. You outta beat your dip shit friend with a stick.

I know people are saying they can but I don't see how. Fan leaves are where energy comes from, if every single one of them is gone where can the plant get energy for more growth? Genuine question.
Quote because I Was dying laughign.. ur buddy is a dumbass dude.. Just let them gorw for liek 2 more weeks a least and they will have new leaves... BUt they might be a lot smaller. he defoliated your plant lmao. All that nitrogen gone to waste.. Can you please ask him why he did that? im seriously curious

I pulled every leaf (well pretty much there was some green)off 12 plants last week maybe week before. 3 are alive today and I say that loosely.
Look at it like a reveg after harvest if you've ever done that. Take off to much leaf and the bitch won't transpire..she dies..maintaining homeostasis will be impossible

I'm not talking about removing leafs blocking bud or however you would normally defoliate. But removing all as was stated

i love removing fan leaves during veg because cleaning small yields is much easier than big ones!!!!!

Lol, Fuck fan Leaves. Rip them all off. I even take off the leaves on my house plants. Looks like a bunch sticks growing but at least there aren't any pesky leaves.

Actually, Spider Mites like fan leaves so fuck them too!

Like I said, defoliation in moderation is a good thing, just don't over do it.

I do it about 2 weeks before switching to 12/12 to open up the insides of the plants to more light, creating more flower sites.I don't do it again untill after initial stretch in 12/12,and then again 2 weeks before chop.

It is important to do it slowly over the course of a few days to a week or so.

Look at it like pruning...no more than 30%.

But do not pluck every single leaf!

I would certainly NOT be disappointed here at all. I have done some defoliating... stopped as my plants didn't grow well after during flower... I tend to pick at the leaves that are looking like shit is that ok. For me it seems the more I do the more goes wrong.. leave things be and things get better..

Explain to your friend his logic is like a runner who thinks, if I weigh less I can run faster, so I will cut my legs off. Then get him back.
