Outdoor UK

I'm thinking of doing a outdoor grow this year, it's near a quarry so I will be using my own soil. I think I will grow the chosen strains to a certain height but not too big because its quite a walk to get too.
Does anyone have any grows in the UK under their belt or know of any good strains that will grow well in the UK weather?

Any advice welcome. It will be my first outdoor grow.

Not an outdoor man myself although a few friends have done outdoors, but they were in the south at the time, not back home in Wales. I'll ask what it was, Im sure Early Frisian or something like that... sounded like the cow anyhoo.

purple maroc Are awsome if you can avoid bud rot. But grow monster trees lol.

Yeah I'll ask when I next speak to them in near future. That list is pretty good. Seen the Lowryder #2 done outdoor on moorland. Not bad really. It was a few years ago we had a lucky relatively dry summer.

Chicken Wire.
Vaseline the bottom foot of stalk to stop slugs.
Piss in the whole area around the grow whenever you can!

I grew 3 lr2 fems, all turned out really well except from the smoke, id rather smoke a roll up mate seriously shiiit weed

The big devil'2 is a winner for the uk, i done em last year 5/5 all identical really nice under 2foot with an average of 20g+ per plant
Took about 12 weeks from seeds

Easy sativa and purple maroc have done me perfect for 4 years & im gonna try the freezecheese89 aswell this year i seen some great reports from uk growers last year!

Shaman looks good, I've grown the bomb indoors and got 7 oz of each, apparently you can get upto a kg outdoors, don't know if its good outdoors though. Easy sativa and shaman look good. Gonna do a few so gonna pick n mix from herbies

Avoid hollands hope(less), it will not flower in time. Purple maroc is a winner, its virtually bomb-proof.

Onyx and Mi5 are good bets if you want to go down the auto-flower route.

Surprised that a Moroccan Strain does well in the UK climate....
The Riff Mountains are a lot closer to the equator than anywhere in the UK....

Durban Poison was once recommended to me
on the grounds that DURBAN (South Africa)
is about equal distance from the equator
as the UK is....
I fucked up by planting the seeds in my back garden
(I was 17 and knew NOTHING!).

There is now an early finishing Durban (imaginatively named 'Early Durban')
that is supposed to be a good grower
but it's a sativa high....

NoE, without experience growing it i would agree, but having grown it and seen countless examples of its success i can vouch for it.

Heard good things about DP as well...
