Bio-warfare
I just found an infestation of spider mite after narrowly avoiding losing the girls to root rot... things have been very rocky.
After looking at the first page here I was getting ready my arsenal: pepper spray, nicotine tea (nb. wear a mask or get very ill), Pyrethrum sprays and about to order some fossil soil when I was told to look into
bio-control. Basically bugs for bugs. There is now a box of
Neoseiulus californicus on its way. I can't wait to see the fear in the spider mites beady little eyes when my Hunter/Killer class bugs march in.
Wondering which treatments were lethal to my agents I looked around a bit more and am about to try a regimen as suggested
here. I wish I could get a copy of the full paper but I get the idea. If anyone is curious about the progress please let me know what you want me to track
For now I am going to use 25 bugs per plant (25/25cm) and a treatment of
White Oil as advised on the bottle.
Update: I did a test spray on a corner of leaves and after a night under the lights the leaves have curled up. I won't continue with the white oil.
