General Organics Nutrients

Ok so i have always used the general hydroponics organic line (general organics) and would like some input on what others that have used it think. now i have not used the diamond black and would like to know what you guys think of that as well. i am also a little confused about it because the feeding chart (not that i go by the feeding chart, but it is still some reference) says to only use it for the first 2 weeks yet the bottle says use when ever you want. so i would like to know when others are using it during their grow.
thanks again,
F35

first off i would like to apologize for this useless piece of shit spammer that has jacked your thread.

second i have used the general organics line and found it to be ok. i found that if you dont have a great micro bio in your soil its tough to use. i went by the feeding schedule for the most part and things seemed to grow fine untill the last 1/2 of flowering then shit went to hell. i was also using molasses and tea frequently and i think the molases was the majority of my issues.

so as far as the diamond black goes i cant really give much insight but just wanted to throw out the molasses thing so you dont make that same mistake..most people think that the molasses helps the micro's in the soil which in turn helps break down that organic matter in the fertilizer..this is correct to an extent but too much will throw the soil BH way off and give you lockout issue so be carefull.

When I first started out I had the GO go box or whatever they call it. Its an awful lot of shit to try to pound into one grow cycle and it doesnt take much to burn the shit out of everything.
Less is more. These days a grow nute, a flowering nute and a little silicon additive and thats just fine.
I learned to ditch the molasses crap too. The more shit I cut out, the less problems I have

In your opinion, why is molasses crap?

GO already has cane sugar in both the grow and bloom formula, so there is really no point in molasses if one is using GO. I use GO in my grow, but in tandem with aerated teas to build the biological base. Despite what the label says, you need to be checking your ph after nutes are mixed. Cal/Mag in particular made my ph crash after mixing and the whole line has a tendency to cause lockout later flowering. Nitrogen toxicity is also a possibility depending on feed schedule, ppm load, and feed frequency. Overall, I give most of their products a meh... Except biobud. That is an excellent product and has a permanent place in my feeding regimen.

I ran into the same problems with it causing problems mid flower so I went ahead and just swapped the bloom for the grow again and no more issues. If your checking ph in organic yourdoingitallwrong in the first place. It's more of addressing the plants needs instead of blaming products, from what I've seen majority on this forum it comes down to grower error.

ok great advice thank you for everyones input, so i guess if you all think the full line is too much what would you suggest then? veg, flower, bud, and cal/mag?

I used it on one grow. When the buds cured in the jars they took on an odd tea-bag kinda smell that I know came from the molassas. I like my weed to smell and taste like weed and nothing else. I never used it again. Course thats just my opinion, I'm sure you'll hear both sides I just didnt see it as anything important or especially needed.

I think one of the keys is to just go easy on any of the additives. 1/2 strength of most of them usually works best.

I'm using the GO Box this grow. I've been using the heavy feeding schedule. The light one's just not enough, or at least the heavy schedule isn't too much. For these plants. I'm using ro/distilled water so I'm not shy with the cal/mag. No burn that I can see. I tried the 'normal' schedule and ran into problems right away. Plants were hungry. I'm about 30 days in from the flip ( Feb 1st) so if it's going to hit the fan it should be any time now.

From yesterday:

All this proves is that cannabis is one hardy plant and that individual results may vary. I agree that when feeding requirements are unknown it is best to start lightly. Easy to bump it up. Harder to dial it down and wait for repairs.

Probably just jinxed myself - 1 week later - LoBud "Why my leafs tuen yelow and fal off?"

i dont see any of the general organics actually burining plants as they are mostly orginac matter...this has its pro's and con's

some of the pro's are burning is verry difficult as your not using chemicals. this makes it easier to mess up feeding and get away with it.

the cons are if you dont know organics you might not get the full benifits of the fertilizer. and also they dont have alot of imidiate results if you have plants that are hungry yesterday as it does take time for things to break down in the soil.

Hey Freedom35! Glad I saw this thread! I'm only using the Grow and CalMag, I have not used any of the other products but am going to order the GoBox pretty soon. I'm doing some research on the line so I'll be ready for it when it arrives.
What kind of problems happened with yours? Were you checking the P.H and EC/PPM?

A question to everyone: How many milliliters or teaspoons did you guys feed your rooted clones or sprouted seeds? And what kind of growing medium were they in?

i am on my 3rd grow with the gobox nutes. my plants seem happy. i feed according to the schedule and the only time i had a problem with lock out was when i started trying to adjust the ph. when i just used the nutes with my tap water(that sits out for a few days to let the chlorine dissipate) things went fine. i used molasses too on both my grows and after reading this post, maybe that is why i have not been impressed with the flavor. all 5 strains i have grown all taste the same and are all just ok. the potentcy is really good(too powerful for me but my kids love it). the smell when smoked is different than most too so much so that my son at college can smoke in his room and people aren't sure what he is burning. i think i will go without molasses this time out. i also am adding in open sesame, beastie blooms and cha ching this time to see if i can get my yield and flavor better. i used the diamond black a all through vegging my first 2 grows. this time out i followed the schedule and have not noticed a difference. the plants still are happy. i think i am going to use up what i have left after this grow on my house plants and try sumpin' else next time out if the flavor does not improve. ^^^janejane - i don't check ec. i was checking the ph. the nutes will lower it a good few tenths but i grow in soil and as long as it isn't below 6, it seems to work fine. i think during flower the ph is supposed to be higher but that has not been a problem that i know of for me. i just use ph paper(hydrion 5-8 i think bought from amazon) because i can't be bothered with the electronic calibration and crap...
