Key's 2nd Grow Journal - 3 Bag Seed Skunk #1

Still in flowering of my initial grow (about two weeks or so), I felt it would be wise to sprout a few more.
I germinated three (3) Skunk #1 bag seeds sometime around mid January. They are in red cups, and have been under 18/6.
For this grow I built a custom room out of a wardrobe box, 2 wide x 2 deep x 3ft 10 high.
I will line the inside with mylar or panda film.
In each corner is a t4 with two (2) 40w bulbs, three of them are 5000k and one is 5500k. Also in the center is a 28w sunshine systems glowpanel (I acquired this is a bundle).
A small fan is circulating the air inside.

I will update the journal posting with pictures. Right now, I am just wanting to medicate and lay back. :joint:

Here are a few photos.

Sixth, the smaller seedling/start box I have as well, plants were in here.

Third, close up of the three cfl's in the small seedling box.

Fourth, the three plants after their time in the small seedling box. (Top left and Top Right (each 10 nodes) sprouted before the plant in center (5 nodes). Plant in center was a smaller more white/beige-ish seed.)

Fifth, an overview of the box. Four t4s, one in each corner and the led in the center.

Second, a view of how the plants are in the box.

First, is the whole box.

Thanks bro, I wanted to top each plant but chose not to. I might top one. I have an idea, to cut the bottom 2-3 inches of the cups, and place them into a larger felt pot, leaving the sides, the goal is for the roots to keep growing deeper, while still developing a root core inside the rest of the cup. (?)

I do the cut-the-bottom-of-the-cup thing.....I just cut the bottom 1/2 inch though. Soak your soil in the cup first or you'll end up with a handful of soil and roots.

I'm drunk, and I have organic blue corn tortilla chips and tomatillo yelli chili orangic salsa, with quinoa, red lentils and garbanzo beans to scoop. Medication time, I need it.

I have made the choice to reduce from (4) to (3) of the 4ft flourescents. They are the old school t12's and, after now I realize the efficiency is better from t8's and best from t5's. All the t12's were free though, how may I best make use of them? I have 13 4ft (2) bulb fixtures, all wired with 3ft cables. They must be good for some part of cultivating? I know the bulbs may be burned through pretty good, but all except one so far have lit right up, and it's most likely just the bulbs need replacing on the one that did not light up, I have not checked that particular fixture with any other bulbs, just the bulbs that were in it.

What to do with 13 4ft t12 fixtures?

These plants are in botanicaire aeration mix, and recommends to water/feed 6-8 times a day. They are in red cups, each watering is less than 4oz. The bottom inch of each cup is hydroton, for transplant they will go right into 3 gallon fabric pots to flower out. I will not be using the soil less medium from botanicare for flowering, as I do not want to be watering 6-8 times a day. I will transplant into an organic soil.

Looking good sir, I like the creativity used for the grow room...:-) Cool! Have you had the skunk #1 before? I am about to harvest mine for the second time lovely stuff.

Also have you tried the strip T5 lights, they are a little expensive but work fairly well. you can get them in 2' or 4' if I remember correctly. I use (2) 4'/54w T5 Sun Blaze for my cuttings.

I've yet to pick up a t5, and a few 2ft fixtures sound awesome for this type of box. Yea, It works well for now, lining with some reflective film will help with the light. Seems that there are at least two phenotypes of skunk #1 here. A more sativa looking (thinner leaves) and a more indica looking (fatter leaves). The third plant is shorter and might be a third phenotype, though it does seem more indica with fatter leaves.

Transplanted one into a soilless 2 gallon and the other into an organic soil 2 gallon. I will leave the third plant in a red cup and put it under 12/12.

Tip that box on its side and light it up all around?...
Or get a bigger grow spot
Or try to sell 'em on the ol' craigsist and reinvest the money...
That'd make a great cutting/seedling box. I posted em' up and have given away four so far. Running two of them in my fruit/vegetable tent. Six left of the 13.
