I thought you would've posted a new thread for that. Chugging along is right
I thought about it, but iPhoto was acting up and I want it to be jam packed with content from the start. Next time
Coco media often have calcium , magnesium deficiencies. coco has a high CEC and sucks up and ties up high CEC ions, like Ca, Fe, Mg.
Simplest solution is to add Cal Mag to your regular watering mix. I use Botanicare's with good results.
^^^^THIS.
Also you don't want to let coco dry out as much as you would soil, it seems due to that cation exchange that if you dry out too much it will raise the EC and then when you feed again you can more easily burn your plants. But GG, you're 100% correct in your thinking that what you are seeing on the leafs looks like Mg. Either supplement or get coco specific nutes. Not sure what you are feeding with, I caught what you are foliar feeding with. You could add some epsom salt to that foliar feed if you wanted. But either way either coco specific nutes, cal-mag, or some other form of Ca supplement. I knew a guy that would even use cleaned crushed up egg shells in his mix because as you add acidic nutes the calcium carbonate shell dissolve and releases Ca.
GO Biothrive can make super healthy plants in coco. I use 5ml grow and 5ml bloom with their calmag and floranectar to get the Mg and Ca up. Floranectar is schweeeeet. Same mix veg or flower...I just add a bloom booster in flower. Just some ideas...your last grow looked primo so you probably don't need much help there.
love your grows, definitely some of the nicest herb I've seen yet from led. Little more height on the tops and the yield should be big.
I was 99% already about the Mg, and was treating already...I just ask to get opinions. I come into this grow knowing all about coco and it's calmg needs. Babysit a few pure coco gardens plus my research.
CalMg has always been apart of my feeding regiment and I have upped the dose a tad for this grow(for the feeding in the 1g's already). The reason they were showing is because they didn't get any feed at/after the transplants to 5gals. I washed the coco and cut/mixed the soil same day so it was relatively wet/moist...but in the few days since the transplant the roots exploded(coming out pots already) before I could feed for the first time so the were showing. They were responding to the foliar and loved the feeding last night.
Super soil is the best I have grown with, but it's been a while since I mixed a batch. But when it comes to bottled, GO has treated me right.
My feed line is
GO's Grow & Bloom
GO's CalMg
Gorwmore seaweed extract
Boogie Brew veganic compost tea + Aloe puree
Possibly MOAB for late boost(still debating, but since in so coco bias, probably)
Nice even canopy and tops. With the def. Its mag or zinc. If zinc the kelp foliar should take care of it. Epsom salt foliar for mag.
is that an avocado seed in sprouting in there too?
You noticed it!!Yep from a specially delicious avocado. I meant to talk about it. It's root is about 1 1/2" already. I started it in a window, but moved it out to the room because the temps are so good.
Get ready for blast off GG
............heavy feeders for sure, soooooo hold on to your hat! Your thoughts on the HSO version for us east coast growers??
Also what 1000w ballast are you buying to run with the horti???
good luck and be safe brother
Ya, I'm going to feed them well, big growing girls.
The HPS will be a Hortilux super hps, in a raptor hood for sure. The ballast might change but originally was going to be a phantom. But a lumatek might happen instead. I will know for sure later in the week. Either way it will be a top notch one, just matters what I get the hook on...since Hps isn't my priority(but still needs to be a good one), I'm trying shop around.
HSO's blue dream is a great strain from what I have seen. And I have heard it is back crossed a few times...and I know they used the real cut. But to me blue dream is a pheno of (blueberry x haze). But there are other phenos too. Some are better(based on opinion) than the original yet definitely have some variation. But some are close too. I have also see an pheno that is dead on for the most part...I almost bough cuts of it...but wanted the original so I asked otherwise it's would have been specified. He was straight forward about it but to me it's just not BD. I saw the samples and it was really nice and close.
My opinion is that blue dream is a clone only and the name shouldn't be used by any company unless specifying that it's a Bx...but even then, honestly should just be called something else's. But it still a great cross of genetics with great potential for yields, potency, and special traits(like color or secret unknown aromas), and all together even.
I feel the same way about OG, but too late for that for that one. They could have called it kush all they want...but there are only 3 that should be called OG(Tahoe, Larry, SFV).
Excellent side-by-side. That AT600 looks primed to dominate.
Ya, it should be fun. I don't expect anything to dominate. My goal for great success is to have an equal or super freaking close yield(<10%) while boosting the quality. But if the AT decides it wants to dominate, I won't hold it back(same for the hps...it going to be the best and truest test possible).
