I'm a victim of FIM

This is of course my first grow & I have drooping leaves & yellow spots on fan leaves. I'm only in vegi state. They were growing so bueatiful(in my opinion) anyway. I've been reading so much info that I feel confused. Asking for a lil help here. My goal is DWC grow but since I wanted to start I went with soil grow before I had all the pieces I needed for DWC. I have all the pieces for DWC but I'm not a quitter so I really want to see this soil grow a success. Small or big I want to see it!! :hump:

Easy on the new poster. This section is named "Newbie Central" for a reason.

OP, you might want to look up what "FIM" is.

Try getting your CFLs around 2 inches from the top of the plants and your T8s are not serving much of a purpose the way they are set up. Lots of wasted light! I cannot tell where you have fimmed your plants in those pictures. Your leaves are drooping because of overwatering most likely. Try waiting til the pot is considerably lighter before watering and you can also gently dig with one finger 1 to 2 inches down in the soil and if the top layer is bone dry I would say to water. You will eventually get to where you can tell by weight of pot. Def Start by rearranging your lights because they are not doing much good with your current configuration. I cannot see the yellow spots on the leaves either in those pics so cant help you there either.

bring those lights down to about an inch or so away from the plants for a starter.. they look good to me, other then stretched, but they'll come around..

They look like good plants to transplant to bigger pots and bury the stem a little.

How do you suppose I move my T5? I only had my lights up so I could show you guys what I had. There usually not that high. It's only a small box & on the sides is the only place I could fit them. I will take them if I have too. Like I said earlier I have my tent dwc ready to go but I wanted to see this out first. Thanks for the feed back.

Florescent lights aren't the best to grow with. . I'm NOT saying you can't but only having one is a waste of your time.. especially at that distance. I'd get several cfls as high of a watt as you can.. prolly shoot 2700k since you're about to flip to flower.

Also definitely signs of overwatering but you've got bigger fish to fry before that

At this point you'd be better off using multiple cfls over one t8/t5..

T5/t8s can grow but people who grow through flower with them have many t5/t8s.. Bottom line 1 isn't gonna cut it

Do you mind showing me where contributors were anything but 'easy'?

If it's inconvenient to move the lights, put something like a shoe box or whatever you have under your little babies until they are a little bigger and gradually drop them down.

Lots of good advice above.

ok so im still confused about if u fimmed them or not? and ya that t5 is a waste of time its not doing anything you should def get more cfls. to be honest i am not a fan of t5s andy way they dont penetrate well i only use them for seedlings and clones
