Phosphorus? Calcium? Is my water toxic?

Hey all.
Soooo, I seem to be having constant nutrient deficiency symptoms. I ph my water to 6.7. This is a blackberry kush. 5 weeks in veg. Started in sunshine mix #4 and just transplanted to FFOF 5 days ago. I have not added any fertilizer yet. Thoughts?
I am starting to think my water/pipes are toxic. Please advise. I live in Portland, OR and the water is quite soft and by all accounts very good for a municipal water system. I have and ec tester on the way. This issue started after bringing the plants from a reputable dispensary. The systems manifested after watering them twice. The same thing happened with my last grow. Frustrating to say the least.

Im sorry I don't think I know what sunshine mix #4 consists of?

Is it a coco based medium? If so your pH is a little high. 6.0 would be better.



Once you can EC test your water it should become clearer as to some issues. Anything above EC0.4 isn't ideal for using.

Under 0.2EC and you'll need a calmag supplement.

Great info. Thanks. Confirms my suspicions. Sunshine #4 is peat with a little coir and perlite. It was mostly just used as as starter until I got into the ocean forest. Maybe the roots switching from one medium to to another could be giving some ph shock?

more pics?......... going into ffof should fix your problems for a couple weeks not cause new ones.......if anything I would guess you water logged em w those two waterings.........if your watering til runoff w ffof youre gonna fuk yourself.....

Sunshine #4 is just peat and perlite.
It has almost no nutrients, since it is not a soil medium.
I use my own mix of peat/perlite/coco and I start feeding seedlings around two weeks.
I am actually surprised it went five weeks in the #4 without showing worse deficiencies.
Since you transplanted it to FFOF, you should see the plant start to turn around a bit.

hey opu, got same exact problem. so far no quick cure. i m in ffof and happy frog mix, 3 gal buckets. was using rain water and cal/mag w each watering. when i fertilized had to add ph+ for the first time. so one day i had an xtra gallon. checked ph and it was 8. so figured out the rain water could be a bit volatile esp w no buffer in it. the older leaves are most affected and since i havent been able to fix them they ve been snipped. last watering w a tea ended up w runoff at 7.3 so working on getting it down. here s what i ve tried: foliar spray of big bloom and tea, stopped using ph up and rainwater. one opinion i ve had is ph swings. i v added a bunch of supplements in my quest to fix this problem all to no avail. new growth seems ok. in checking the temps i v had 60 deg at bottom of bucket to 80 at top of plant. raised the lights to lower the top temp. so my only hard evidence is high ph. plants have been in neutral since it was discovered. thanks for the pics

couple more things. i ve been able to test my adjustments on a few of the plants to make sure i m not hurting more than helping. so far nothing worse. and am adding some zinc. what r u using for a sugar source(molasses, honey) and have u used any foliar sprays(for bugs, nutes etc)?

Thanks for the input. I was a bit vague about the feedings. Plants are five weeks old. I've had them 3. The dispensary had given a bit a nutes prior to my obtaining them. I think they are showing some signs of improvement in the ffof. It has been 6 days since transplant.

I haven't added any sugar source. I gave them a light mist with epsom salt about a week ago when I started to see mg problems. No other foliar feed or pest issues. It has been 6 days since I transplanted and the new growth is looking much better. I watered them with ro water yesterday and 1/4 tsp:gallon of both calmag and ff grow. The water was ph'd to 6.6. By next watering I'll have my ec meter and hopefully be able to fully dial in my watering/feeding. I am curious bout adding molasses.

the new soil ur using is good stuff. lots of nitrogen and calcium etc. do u think the epsom mist helped? if not u think the cal/mag was locked out? defn gotta wet the soil b4 u put it into a buckets, i forget to do that sometimes. i water all the way thru, leaving a little more in the trays for the larger plants. i ve used molasses, honey and agave for sugars. like the honey late in flowering. tablsp/gallon when i use it. i have been using 1 tsp/gal of cal/mag. c where ur ph runoff is now.
