there is a reason so many people considered him a douche. While a lot of his stuff is clearly very good, I made one post about a negative experience with his void and got nothing but abuse from him. I won't be buying any of his stuff again or speaking of him in any favourable terms

TGA should definitely stabilize their strains. Or maybe just put up a disclaimer saying that you are getting F1 seeds with high variability. I don't understand how you can describe a strain and expect someone to want to purchase it and then you get 6 different pheno's. Why not stabilize some of these strains and call them what they are??????????????????????????? Sure it is dank but some of us don't have the time to go "pheno hunting" every time we buy strain 'a' after reading said description of strain 'a'. I believe the seed co. should be responsible for stabilizing at least some of their strains for the public who know what they want. Peace

Got any siblings? Do you and all of them look identical? Probably not unless your are an identical twin or possibly septuplets, I don't know but you see how each "seed" that fell outta your momma didn't look the same? Same thing with cannabis plants, a mommy and a daddy "mate" selectively or otherwise and produce offspring or what's also known in the "drug world" or here on planet earth as "seeds" so when you buy seeds in a 10 pack let's say... you have pack of 10 siblings that are all combinations of said Mamie and pappy...
Or you can "stabilize" your strains by stressing a female plant in some way or another to point of "self pollinating" and create feminized seeds... But the only problem is they are chicks who wanna grow dicks...
"Pheno hunting" isn't really all that big of a deal for folks that are looking and possibly find that 1 in 10,000 or 100,000 recessive genetic masterpiece....
And for those that don't understand that most times you aren't gonna get the pheno pictured, these are the exceptions out of 100's of possible popped seeds... On the other hand, speaking about the void specifically, I bought a 10 pack 2 years ago and grew 4 when I got it, I got the exact "pictured" pheno.... I also got a querkle dom, and an Apollo Dom... And male... I recently cracked 3 more... I have a perfect mirror image of the a13 mother that smells like grapes that had those red resin rails and is one of the most amazing yielding plants I've ever grown...... Also, a chunky querkle bud pheno that smells like that Apollo funk and turns purple, as well as 1 male... I think the querkle pheno I have is not going to make the final cut but will be grown again 1 or 2 more times to make sure do to like it...
But the big thing a lot of the "haters" or complainers aren't getting is you'll honestly see more similar looking plants when you grow them out towards their full potential.. You can't grow a strain once from seed and use your results as anything but preliminary, it must be grown at least once more (if your a competent enough grower to nail it in 2 tries) because 90% of the time they grow much more "as advertised" when you grow from clone.... I'm starting to believe I should get the seed plant cloned ASAP and toss it not waisting resources on it...
There's always going to be those who like brand a and hate brand b. find what works for you and run with it, whoever bred it...
Stop wasting time criticizing and get back in your garden and make/grow something better, then talk shit... Those who can't do..... talk shit...

Seriously. Either that or he doesn't have the time, to put it nicely. It's not easy to stabilize a strain. And I mean STABLE, not 3 or 4 phenos. It takes a long time.
Hey, he's still a better pollen chucker than I am. And as I have said before, he is a natural at marketing. I just don't think he's a very good breeder.

to stabilize a strain you have to back cross with the male and female of both parent strains.
m1 x f1 = strain A (cross with strain b) = strain c
m2 x f2 = strain b (now cross with strain A) = strain d now cross strain c and d
now after that you have your stable strain with 1 to 2 phenos. Now the problem is they are ibl genetics. Then they become far more susceptable to hermie and much more sensitive to stress... They have a lower potency. Ibl's are a bitch go grow. I grew the old school master kush ibl (Hindu kush x Hindu kush) from Dutch passion for years. Over time it became more and more difficult to grow.
I highly suggest you try some TGA or what ever before reiterating someone elses words.

I have tried too many TGA strains already, but I still keep my mind open which is why there is a Jesus OG in my garden in veg right now. So far I have been unimpressed with Vortex, Jillybean, Plushberry, and another pheno of JOG. But the person who gave me this one says it's nice, so I'll try it. I don't expect much other than aroma. But we'll see.
It's funny how the fan boys take it almost as a personal insult that I don't like their hero's genetics.

I'm not a fan boy. My fav Strains come from tga , bodhi, cage green, raredankness, soma and green house (just slh). I've grown strains from Dutch passion, green house, sensi, nirvana, flying Dutchmen, sagmartha, soma, tga, Cali connection, dna, oaksterdam, rare dankness, dj short and my own crosses. I've yet to grow bodhi and cage green but I have smoked them. Tga have been the most pungent , colorful and the most trichomes. The potency is among the top.
my point in the other post is its not that easy. It takes 2 years of back crossing before testing can begin. More issues can arise from back crossing.

Were you aware that your hero is a hater too? Yup. Right here on RIU subcool criticized DJ Shorts genetics, and referred to him as nothing but marketing. Total hater.
Then he did a touchdown dance when Gypsy (a fellow breeder, and pier of subs) got popped for shipping beans over seas. The same thing subcool does, and could get popped for at some point he's celebrating because it happened to someone he doesn't like. Total hater.
So the question is, why are you defending the guy? Do you know him? Is he your next door neighbor? No, you grow his fucking seeds and watch him on youtube. Why get so damn sensitive when he's criticized (often for good reason)?
