Outdoors in town - security/smell

If your in a legal state and your growing legally then 3 is
fine just know your
neighbors and keep a close eye and ear out at all times.
Make sure there are no teenagers that live close by, don't
worry about smell, copters and you will be good. I know cause
this is how I do it successfully each and every grow for quite
a few years now.

This post is just a suggestion and not advice.

This would be your best bet right here. Then go to home depot and get a few driveway alarms. They're extremely cheap and are set off by motion going through their radar range. Which in turn causes the alarm part to go off.
Do you have to prop these alarms up on a chair
or something to avoid your dog(s), cats or the neighborhood stray cats
that wander onto your property that will set the alarms off?

You probably want to prop them up on something and not have them on the ground.
An associate of mine uses them for his place and actually built a small birdhouse to stick the sensor part in and keep it hidden. I'm not sure how sensitive it is to small animals like cats and such but if a human walks through it's radius it sets off the receiver inside of his house. I'd say the sensor and receiver are a good 70 yards away from each other.
That couple with 2 very yappy long haired Dachshunds means no one get's near his property without everyone knowing someone or something is there.

Thank you very much for the help MonkeyGrinder and TWS!
I have a Harbor Freight Tools just a few blocks away walking distance.
I've been thinking of using the driveway alarms along with all the other
security measures that I use such as trip wires, spotlights etc...

Thank you all so much! I will be referring back to this when I am setting it up. I think ill probably give it a try with just a couple plants & mulch the plants to sort of help with smell.

TWS-Love the pics!! They look beautiful. I bet your neighbors are loving you!! Lol. Thanks for the helpful advice bro.

One thing I was thinking of: A greenhouse with a locking door & carbon filter/exhaust system. Could be expensive, but if not visible over the fence could be a good & pricy option, eh?

IMHO you don't need a lock on your greenhouse. If they get that close to your greenhouse, you've already been compromised.....

Here in Colorado you need a lock on your greenhouse to be legal. Quite a joke since a pair of scissors will get you into most greenhouses!

MY GH is covered in Hog wire with the shade screen on the outside of it with a locking door. It may not keep them out but will slow them down for a min. Hopefully by then if Im not home the neighbors will hear something or the dog will help.

With a $10 pair of Harbor freight bolt cutters, I could 'quietly' be inside your greenhouse in less than a minute........

I know. Nothing is safe but it makes me feel better and would stop kids from jumping the fence and just Yanking them. Makes me feel a little better short of land mines. lol I could do it with my Fishing dykes

I can just push that furr strip and break it. Are you kidding?
you'd be surprised, actually. those 8 foot furring strips are screwed in at 2-4 places, and the back and front are guarded by 2x2s.

you can break a furring strip at the right spot, but it's gonna make a whole lot of noise during a quiet night (if you even manage to avoid setting up the motion sensor alarms, which line the perimeter of the yard and greenhouses).

the door is also locked and equipped with a 100 decibel alarm that goes off if the door is opened.

Or you could just break out the scissors and cut thru the carport or open the unlocked door.
