Light proofing 'cable entry' hole in grow box

I will be making a thread from this grow box i created soon enough - but i have a small dilemma, the place where the wires come out/in of the box on the flowering side. So i have the light ballast cable go out of the box to the ballast, and the inline fan power cable thru this one hole. In your experience, what is a good way of 100% light proofing the hole while still being able to take out the light or fan. I suppose i could get a grommet of some kind, put the wires thru and then caulk it but thats not the ideal way. Any ideas?

spray foam works great, 3 bucks wal mart. expands around to fill in everything. im using it in the same application and it was a piece of cake. while your at it, check around the rest of the room and add more when needed. it can be sanded, painted, and easily removed when u want to take it off.

Actually seen this in a home. Mouse was chewing through a joist right where a wire was run for a 30 amp dryer feed. Mouse was electrocuted and died in place stuck halfway in the joist.
Exactly where I seen it.
under my house he was oozing out of the hole n I pulled him in half trying to get him out.
Nasty.

im really diggin the duct putty idea. I have used the foam stuff - Great Stuff - i think it was called. Really good shit overall for a shitload of applications. Does the putty dry? or is it like clay that can be remolded later if i need to add/remove cables and whatnot?

Thanks for the replies! There is a lot of information ive tried to look up (usually little piddly shit)and cant find the answers - this is one of them.
