WOW awesome pictures mucho kudos to your son !

How often do you have to feed them when kept inside ?

Thanks
Thank you very much. He doesn't feed them too much. The other day we caught about 50 ants and did a little feeding. In another month they will spend the summer outdide and they will become murderous bug killing machines.

So how long can they go after a feeding of 50 ants until it's time to feed them again if kept inside not outside.

Will they die if only given water and light ?

Thanks

they gather their nutrition from the air as well i dont think they will die immediately from not eating bugs, but i wouldn't give em more than a month or 2 without tho

As seedlings they can go a year or more without insects. They gather enough from light and soil. He will also water sometimes with a weak coffee and it will offer a little nutrition. Next winter most of the adult plants will go dormant and he will carry the seedlings though the winter and they will go dormant their second year. He has it all planned out. :D

Here are a few updated pictures and some new plants he added to the collection.

A new Sarracenia Hybrid he added, S. courtii psitt x purp.

His Byblis going insane. These things are murderous freaks. It's scary how deadly these ones are.

A new pot of Pinguicula primuliflora.

A pot of little Cephalotus follicularis. He has been wanting to add these to his collection but finding a good deal on them is unusual.

Some Drosera 'Dreamsicle' cuttings pulled from water and turning into new little plants.

I dropped my jaw when I read your son is 11! I was admiring the professional work of your 30 year old son I thought. OMG! That is so impressive let alone that he is so young. Those plants are gorgeous and they would be so beautiful in print and framed. Thanks for sharing. I am assuming this is done in a greenhouse.

Any chance you sell or ship ?

Here are mine, I've just started collecting and my oldest I've only had 6months. They're in 50/50 peatmoss / fine perlite. I feed 1/2 acup of maxi gro from GH once a month.

Awesome pics and information. I just bought a venus fly trap to try out in my grow tent and hopped on here to see if other people have had success. Didn't expect such an interesting thread, now I want to start up a little greenhouse too, damn you all!

I have those "pitcher" plants next to a creek near my house in the summer time here in northern Michigan, Apparently there fairly rare in my parts. I've seen the venus flytraps growing in South Carolina years ago in a bog, all of them are very interesting indeed. It makes me want to start up my own little carnivorous plant tent. Your son has a very nice collection indeed and props to him for being able to grow such finicky plants.:)

edit: could you gives us the names of the plants your showing us??
