Saw this thread and said you were willing to help folks out, I appreciate any and all advice I love my bud and have a passion for growing and even though this is only my second grow and first indoor I still hope to have at least a average yield. My question is concerning my seedling they are all kush strains from BB this is the first time i ordered any genetics and am really stoked about my dog plants. I have four strains germinating Dog (r) ,Cheese Surprise (r)
,Sour Kush x Deep Blue(r)
,OG Kush x Casey Jones (r)
I have them in a dome they have just broke open and a few are just showing signs of green leaves as of today. I have a 2' 2tube florescent light a couple inches above the dome on the tray the all the seeds/seedlings are in rapid rooters I have a room with a 1000 watt dimmable ballast and a MH bulb waiting and FFOF soil, using the GO BOX (general organics) for my nutes. I need to know how long to leave them under the t8 before I blast'em with the 1000 watt MH. I feel like they need to be in some soil before I put them under the HID, is this line of thinking correct? I have been leaving the light on 24/7 is this what i should do? Thanks for sharing your experience and expertise.

Was unable to take pics tonight. If i take them tomorrow it will involve a 50 mile round trip bike ride.
*stretch* *flex* nah probably not happening lol i went there today but he wasnt home.

So in the grand scheme of things i got more qs.
Which is better Tlo or dwc?
Whats rdwc and how is it different than dwc?
Can i still do organic dwc or is it only chemical nutes?
Is anyone else excited about springtime like i am?
What is my best option to save genetics already in flower?
Thats it for now i guess

Well you read correct. ;) I am willing to help any grower out that's willing to listen & learn. ;) Sounds like your off to a good start. Yes to your :??: Leave the lights on your seedlings 24/7 if you would like. Although a 18/6 schedule would work just as good. The strains your working with sound good as well. Once they have popped open, I would remove the dome so they can get use to the environment without the dome/humidity. 1,000 watt light would be overkill for tiny seedlings at 1st. I would keep your seedlings under your florescent at least for the 1st two weeks of their life. Then you could introduce them to the bigger light for a few hours a day just until they are use to it. Certainly don't want to fry your babies. FF soil tends to be to hot for babies/seedlings IMO. I would had went with some sort of seedling mix to start but hey that's just me ;) The General Organics lineup in certainly some good nutrients. I use them on occasion myself. If you happen to need any further help, just holler i will be around.. ;)

To be honest. I haven't read much on
  • rdwc

however, the DWC is a super good method to use growing. I have ran it in the past myself, and yes you can use your organic nutrients (General organics) is what I went with myself. ;)

Hello guys!

Dank, thanks for sharing all these pics!

What's that strain of the purple bud in the last pics??

Cheers!!
Thanks bro.. Really like the avatar pic! ;) anyways, the picture you asked about is our F1 K.A.S.I. she certainly has proven herself to be one KICK ASS strain! Smells and taste just like concord grapes! I am running her F2 seeds now. Working on "fem" as well.

So then another question. What color temp should i run? I read that with cfl a mix is good. Im uaing cfl as support light since i have 9 band leds for main lighting.
So lumens i add up
Coloe temp is just a number and i dont add it up

During veg you would want to go with a "blue" spectrum MH for veg, during your flowering cycle you would want to use more of a orange/reddish spectrum, such as your HPS. Although i have known of some growers using a reverse such as HPS for veg, and MH flowering. I myself use a mix of a few spectrum. Being HPS/MH/LED/ & CFL'S..

Mike, a mix with 6000K would be nice, but usually guys do what they want!
6000K is most commonly used for vegging, while 2700K for flowering!

No, you can not add up color temp, just lumens. Just keep in mind though, the further your lights are from your ladies, the lesser your lumens!

Cheers!
Right on..

Just got my setup together and runnin a bagseed clone now but the nl are being geared as we speak. Under this setup with ffof soil and trio nutes would 1212 from seed produce anything worth doing?View attachment 3025552

Ebay $100 for a 400w MH/HPS complete setup.36,000 lumens for veg and 54,000 lumens in flower..... 400w bulbs can be cooled easily with just a fan blowing on the bulb. Just a suggestion to throw at you.... best of luck.

You have around 25,350 lumens then. That should be plenty with the small #'s of plants you plan on running. However, like Stew had said, 1 system being it LED, or HPS/MH would put out just as much, or MORE lumens then all those lights combined.
I had purchased a 600 watt MH/HPS system and just that 1 system pushes out 90,000 lumens + I have the 800 watt LED system, and the CFL'S ran along the bottoms of the plants for lower growth..

here is a 38.9 gram cola from a bagseed :) cut it down monday night. the pic is a week older than when I chopped her.DSCN4933[1].JPG

here is a pic of kandy kush, was gonna scrog, but ran out of time, so flowered a week or so early..
DSCN4930[1].JPG

and this is one of my double white cheese, sativa pheno. so far on week 11 of flower, and no budswell yet and just the tips of a few pistils starting to redden.

I was trying to find the pic, but cant. we cut down 269.5 grams from 3 plants, my first successful indoor grow (1 previous attempt) we used two 300 watt 9 band leds, and a few cfls at the bottom of the canopy for additional light.
