Likely because he said after the days in water he hung them to dry.... whereas from what I've read about water curing most people use a food dehydrator to do the drying....I can't tell from the picture if that is water cured or not. Usually with water curing the buds some out more compact and/or flat, those look fluffy and air cured.
Just so you know, this is a she! And what I did what make my own dehydrator in a closet with a heater. Most of them didn't need the full 24 hours. It's been a week in an airtight glass jar and they are dry.Likely because he said after the days in water he hung them to dry.... whereas from what I've read about water curing most people use a food dehydrator to do the drying....
He also indicated they dried in that room in 24 hours???? I'm guessing they aren't fully dried yet (even if they appear to be).
Air dry generally removes about 70- 75% of the initial weight... water curing is suppose to remove about 85% of the initial weight. So something about this post is off... as the poster is not indicating as big a loss as one would expect from a water cure. This is why I'm guessing they aren't fully dry... and appear "fluffier" in the pics.
Just a guess though

I have had good luck with it. From what I see all the negativity comes from narrow minded people that have never tried it, and basically commenting on something they know nothing about to make an informed educated statement. It just sounds messed up to them so it is messed up is the mentality. No shit, great tasting bud from a water cure !
For me thats excellent info, ive been curious as hell about water curing but with all the negativity surrounding it ive yet to try it,after reading your info i think im gonna water cure half my next harvest to compare.
Plus rep.
Its not more potent per se. Here is the concept behind the idea of "more potent".I heard you say that water curing makes buds more potent? Do you have anything to back that up? I've never heard that I don't get how sticking bud in water magically makes a plant more potent as opposed to air curing.
I have performed 2 water cure tests:I have had good luck with it. Just try it with a small amount first.Im going to try it,im not really after quick results, shit when i think about im not really after anything except to try new stuff & learn the pro's or con's of the method,i end up with so much left over from each harvest we cant possibly smoke it all.
I dont know if ive ever even seen any water cured buds, water curing is like the little red button your not supposed to push,i cant help it
Dont be so quick to advise some one against it. It has been stated time in and time out again that water curing is not for dealers because of the bag appeal, and I agree. But as far as flavor and smell, that may not be so bad and certainly has its advantages as well. Until I started growing my own, I never liked the taste or the smell so the water cure method was a blessing for me. Now that I grow my own and properly care for it, I am coming around and liking it. So for some smell and taste being removed is a good thing. My personal favorite is getting into my water cured stash to take to dinner and have an after dinner smoke out on the patio of the restaurant, I have done this several times and no one is any the wiser because it has no smell. I recommend testing this extensively before attempting though. All that being said, for some it will benefit and others it will not. I dont feel that it is prudent to tell someone not to water cure, this one of those things that you give the pros and cons and let the individual make their own decision as to what is best for them. My .02 worth. The effect on the flavor, smell, and bag appeal are not worth the quick results.
So quick? Did you not see the two threads I linked where I tried this all out last year ? You are obviously pro-water cure, and I can respect that. I obviously dissagree on this subject for the mostpart. Perhaps a VERY small amount I can see trying this. But I have actually figured out a great system to air cure buds in as little as 7 days, so I can say I will never water cure anything again except in a moldy bud situation.Dont be so quick to advise some one against it.
