Welcome to The Magical Green Carpet Scrog Ride!

The strains are G13's Pineapple Express and (3) and Cali Connection's Boss Hogg (1). The 3 PE are in 100% perlite 3 gallon hempy buckets while the Boss Hogg is in a mixture of coco and perlite. I am attempting to waste no light by creating a dense canopy that is 8 inches away from the 400 watt hps bulb. I topped for 4 main colas and vegged for 5 weeks before switching to 12/12 on February 9th. The nutrients are General Hydroponics' FloraMicro, FloraBloom and FloraGro. The plants require roughly 3/4 of a gallon feedings every 3 to 4 days, and the PH is adjusted to between 5.6 and 6.1 every feeding.

I started keeping records on January 31 and will share them, but first I will post the photos taken on 2/24/2014:

Feb24.jpgfeb24-2.jpgfeb24-3.jpg

Records:

1/31 For every gallon of water added, I added 1 tsp FloraMicro (FM), 1 tsp FloraBloom (FB), 1 tsp FloraGro (FG)
1/31 Zeroed pH sensor.
2/3 For every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 1 tsp FB, 1 tsp FG
2/7 For every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 1 tsp FB, 1 tsp FG
2/9 Switched to 12 on 12 off light schedule to induce flowering.
2/10 For every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 1 tsp FB, 1 tsp FG
2/14 For every gallon of water 1.5 tsp FM, 1.5 tsp FB, 1.5 tsp FG
2/16 Took clones of PE numbers 1 and 2 because they look promising.
2/17 Noted nute burn so I dialed the nutes back to for every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 1 tsp FB, 1 tsp FG
2/20 For every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 1 tsp FB, 1 tsp FG

Comments are welcome. Please let me know if I can add a bit more nutrient solution or address possible deficiencies.

That looks awesome =)

I Love it specially because it's like a preview of what I'll have in a few months. I'm planning on using some of these strains with the same size buckets with the same style of growing!

Keep us posted on your progress!

Thanks for stopping by! I recommend G13 Pineapple express. Some phenos are truly amazing.

I'm running Reserva Privada's Purple Wreck after this.

Wow that looks amazing.

Have you ever considered the ever-bashed technique of defoliating? I know most people hate to think about it, but if done right, you can not only increase yield, you can also make for denser buds...
Here's a good link to a defoliating expert doing his tutorial thingy:
http://www.growweedeasy.com/marijuana-defoliation-tutorial

Then it's up to you to decide if you want to learn and apply these techniques, but I assure you, you'd have less shade in your garden, and thus, some more exposed nodes and buds!

Keep it up! =)

I'm considering doing this to half of each plant and comparing the bud size and density to the parts that are not defoliated.

APHIDS! I spotted some green peach aphids that have infested one plant and are slowly spreading. Any recommendations on how to control them four weeks into flower?

drop a can of ladybugs in there
I just ordered 1500 of them. Hopefully they work! I guess you need to release them during the dark period because they are attracted to light.

I should keep a culture of them. Will they scavenge dead cricket bits and pieces?

I just found this info on the net:

"If Ladybugs tend to fly away, spraying their backs with a soda pop/water solution glues their wings shut for about a week."

Anybody try this so that they do not fly into the hid lights and kill themselves? I think I'll try it.

"Spray a 1:1 solution of water & clear soda pop on the ladybugs just prior to release. The sugar will cause the ladybugs' wings to stick together for a few days, preventing them from flying away. During this time the females should start laying eggs in your garden, and because ladybugs are territorial, those that hatch in your garden will call it home."

It also works to isolate small male clones and female plants forced to make male flowers with colloidal silver for all your pollinating needs!

19mar-3.jpg

3/10 Pollinated one bud from each plant with Short Rider (autoflower) Feminized pollen I had in freezer. Pollen was old, but hopefully it was viable.
3/10 Noted aphids, ordered ladybugs per SFGuy's advice.
3/11 For every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 1.5 tsp FB, 0.5 tsp FG
3/13 Released about 1000 ladybugs into the grow tent.
3/15 For every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 1.5 tsp FB, 0.75 tsp FG
3/19 For every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 1.5 tsp FB, 1 tsp FG
3/19 Took photos and noted an absence of aphids.

Sorry to break into your thread but I saw it was recently active and I need some good advice about my grow. Can someone help me? I don't want to type out the long interesting journey this grow has been unless someone wants to hear it

3/22 Released more ladybugs.
3/23 For every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 1.5 tsp FB, 0.5 tsp FG
3/25 The dank smell of G13 Labs' Pineapple Express is starting to overcome the new charcoal filter, fortunately it dampens the smell enough so that the neighbors don't notice!
3/27 For every gallon of water 1 tsp FM, 2 tsp FB, 0.5 tsp FG
3/27 Noted that buds are starting to really swell and pack on the trichomes. Hopefully only ten more days to go!
