Should I have any concerns...or maybe just a little more patience!

Hi and thanks for reading this

I took these photo's today of a Sativa Dominant outdoor plant. I have concerns about the buds and the odd way the pistils appear. The pistils are now quite thick and sparse at the top and almost look like a claw. The calyx appear to be swelling steadily over the last 2 weeks. I know you can get this claw effect with the leaves(nitrogen toxicity?) but not sure about this....I haven't seen anything like it while researching online but I guess it could just be the genetics of the bag seed that I started with. The bottom leaves are beginning to slowly turn yellow...so I guess its doing all the right things at this point in its lifecycle?

The Stats

Outdoor
In ground
Bag seed -Sativa Dominant
Veg Nutes -Terra Vega 5mls per ltr
Flowering Nutes -Terra Flores 5mls per ltr, Molasses
Flowering 9 Weeks approx
PH - last time I checked (7 days ago) about 7 - 7.5

I am thinking this still has another 4-5 weeks before done...does this seem about right, if so, then should I start flushing in another 3 weeks?
The leaves by some of the buds are taking on a purple look but it has been fairly cold and wet the last week but has not affected the entire plant.

Any comments or advice?

Looks pretty healthy. Clawing is from overfeeding/watering. A little yellowing is normal during the end of flower. Flushing is a personal preference. Optimal PH for soil is 6.8. Watch your trichomes with a jewelers loupe (60x). 95%-Cloudy 4%-Clear 1%- Amber = 100% heady smoke. Hope that helps a little.

no expert on sativas, but one just showed up in my grow chamber so i'm kind of in a sativa mood
i'd say your estimate could be close, bit of color going out of the fans, pretty good bud developmen
good luck and good harvest

It has had a heap of rain on it over the last week but am sure it will perk up now that its a bit finer again and will get a chance to dry out a bit. I have a handheld scope on the way due late next week so will begin checking the trich's then. Hasn't had a feed since last weekend. I knew the rain was coming so thought I may as well let that take care of flushing the crap out of the soil and any build up of salts etc. Will begin feeding again tomorrow. Thanks for the help I was just a bit anxious about the state of the pistils but by the sound of it, seems all is normal, so that's great. Thanks everyone for the input/advice and will update the picks closer to harvest in a few weeks

Pinworm I was interested in your comment about the flushing prior to harvest, do you think in your experience that it is not necessary?

I have read a heap of stuff and many seem to do this as a matter of normal harvesting however from what I have also read many think that a good drying and curing procedure is as effective.

I am tending to lean a bit more towards the feed until the plant is all but ready and maybe give a couple of plain waterings just prior to harvest, then dry and cure properly.

Patience Patience Patience :peace:

In my experience flushing isn't necessary. Most flushers will tell you that - flushing, then feeding only water for the last 2 weeks will give you a better tasting smoke. I say if things are done correctly there's just no need. In an emergency (like if your experiencing N burn) I don't see a problem, and if that's the case then use double the amount of light nutrient solution to your medium. Like a 5 gallon pot would need 10 gallons of solution to "properly flush"....

But, A good cure is the best way to get a decent tasting smoke.
