saved from Nitrogen def, but what's this??

long time listener, first time caller

I'm growing in coco with House & Garden Cocos A&B, Roots Excelurator, Amino Treatment & Multi Zyme.

At first I nearly destroyed the seedlings with a 600W HPS and nutrient burn (rookie errors!)..I got some good advice and bought a 400W MH and lowered the EC. They came back around after some time off to repair.

They still remained quite pale even when they started growing nicely again. Through here and other resources I figured they had a nitrogen deficiency so I added some Nitrozyme to their feed and gave a couple of sprays of Dutch Pro Leaf Green.

I want to know that I have them back to good health.

They are greening up but they still seem to be drinking and growing quite slowly. The lowest, oldest leaves are still bright yellow on a couple. Will I be able to rectify that?

I also notice on a couple of plants they have yellowing done the middle of the leaf, and across the veins, is this a magnesium deficiency? Would you recommend Calmag?

I wish I could help you, man. I'm a first time grower myself, and I'm looking for advice/help too.
Mine are also suffering from a Nitrogen Deficiency. I recently bought nutrients for it and hoping maybe we can compare plant health a little later.
How much did you put in? (REALLY WANT TO AVOID ROOKIE MISTAKES)
I read on the back and said half a teaspoon per gallon of water. Best of luck man, they look pretty good as far as I know. I just don't know why the bottom leaves are still yellow.
The paleness could mean that it still needs a little more time?

right.

first of the main OP, get a bigger pot and bury that plant DOWN DEEP and score the side of the main stalk to promote root growth from the scores, strip them bottom few yellowing leafs of and bury it down to that, then get your light LOW,
use 1ml f calmag, but it seems your plants are ok now, im just starting to use tormorite, canna alternative nr enough same npk and has calmag and seaweed added, (its tomato food) start at half dose



and DONT confuse iron def with hunger or rootbound, N def u will have yelllow leaves and see the veins in green, if its hunger then it will be more of a pastil yellow with NO veins, check your pot size, just fyi

and switch to canna, i see your in coco, stick to canna dutch pro meh! why fix what aint broke aye?

I really appreciate the advice,
switch to canna? sorry I don't exactly know what that means...
I was going to repot them and add perlite to the coco to encourage some aeration?

VicBoss, I guess the nute amount depends on where your plants are at? I wouldn't start throwing advice around yet though, still trying to find my bearings!

Canna is a brand of nutrients. They and Hesi make Coco specific nutrients.

You should add a Cal/Mag product to your feeding! Coco needs a Cal/Mag. I might suggest CALiMAGic from G&H for the iron content in that brand also good for Coco.
Coco tends to retain salts and Canna and Hesi use non-Urea based formula's that are cleaner running in Coco.
For you I might also say that a quick flush every few weeks will help that out with the brand of nutrient you use. Flush at the switch to flower too.

What's the difference between being N def and your plant being "hungry"?

How do you remedy a "hungry" plant? (besides feeding it nutrients)
