I'm sure someone will take this the wrong way buuuut, these lights lack intensity in the red spectrum to make them viable compared to an HPS with a premium spectrum bulb. With the pontoon they are more viable but will still not produce nugs of the same size or density that a premium 600 or 1000 hps will. It is more close to a 400-430 with a premium bulb, but spread out a bit in the footprint. You get into coverage area and heat mitigation and you start to see the dividend of using them. Personally I find that a blend of HPS and IG gives me the spectrum/intensity/heat signature that I'm looking for. At the end of the day they can produce as much material if not more from coverage area but the penetration is limited and the result is a bit larfy comparatively but if the result is to be primarily for extract that issue is mitigated as well because the IG will get your trich production up at a noticeable level from what your used to, I've seen this on a few strains that saw both lights separately. This makes me a bit pissy because they advertize spectrum equality but to get said equity you have drop another 7 hun, IMHO they should come with the pontoon. I mean 40 wat led fixture for that much is bullshit especially since it's necessary to achieve the level of results that they claim from the base fixture alone. $.02
 
I disagree. I got big dense buds. Far more trichomes than under hps. A 400w hps will produce the same size buds as a 1000w. Given both lights have the same spectrum bulb. The 400 is at least 4 inches closer. The 1000w will have a larger footprint. 2 400's of different bulbs will out perform a 1000w. That's what I've seen in my grows and other peoples.
 
hyroot your buds are fluffy and not dense I don't think you know what this dude is talking about, hes talking about dispensary quality not fluffy nugs.
 
It's true hyroot, btw I mean no disrespect bro! I consider you a homie but I noticed your buds got smaller and more sparse when you switched just based on your pics.
Check it, these are 850 watt grown with a premium HPS and IG, no pontoon. I haven't seen anyone using just IG with or without pontoon with buds like this?

My buds have never been fluffy. They all rock hard. The densest and frostiest buds I ever got are from inda gro. The largest buds I ever got. Were from par t5. After those led / CMH then hps comes in last. My current grow, last update was at day 30 I think...... You can't judge that yet. They are very frosty. The grow / thread before and in my videos. You can clearly see big dense colas on small 2 ft tall plants

the cheese og, this is the first round of clones. Last batch was the seed. Those you can throw at a window and break the glass. I've never grown it under any other lighting. The cheese berry kush I have grown under every lighting. Best results were inda gro and par t5.

@ Colo I have not grown your genetics. So I can't compare. We all know yield and bud size is mostly determined by genetics. Especially with organics.

Woah fellas, allow me to step in and hopefully bring this to a cease fire cus i can tell shots gonna get heated quick. I personally have never used hid because i do not have the shit needed to handle the heat, only used led up until i bought my ig 420. I agree colo that the price of the pontoon is a lil steep but you are very wrong in thinking it is needed to flower with the ig. Just look at spliffs older vids as proof of that, when i pulled the trigger on my ig it was becaise of his success with it and at that point the pontoon was still in infancy. ALSO the pontoon is more of a flower initiator than anything, the 660 is just an added bonus.
Also yoda please stfu and sit down boy, if you could do me a solid and find a link to the "cree uv-b" leds in your panel because i could not find a bin number or even description of what chips they used. Till you find that please do not post in this thread. Fyi uvb leds are not as advertised or they would be in top of thr line panels, only panel that i would consider buying with uvb is CLW and those are fluoros supplementing that if i am not mistaken.
hy keep on keeping on and show them whats what. You guys also need to remeber that was his FIRST time under these lights , there is always alil bit of a learning curve with new tech.

I've been using an indagro for a while now and I'm not new to this thread either. I got hip to them from following a grow from a dude here called salcielo, then spliff showed up on this thread and he is fun to follow and a fine grower as well as a fine person.

you didn't offend me. Yoda did. All he does is talk shit. He doesn't have one positive post on this forum. Like I said I cant compare your results to mine because I haven't grown the same strains as you. My next batch is all brand new strains from seed.

You guys are totally wrong about the quality of your nugs and I know because I go to dispensaries often and see top quality nugs from top growers and you don't. I live in a state where weed is legal, you don't. I get to see successful medical grows each week, you don't. I never claimed I am the best but you need to stop acting like you are a top grower because you got a lot to learn.

most dispensaries in SoCal have horrible buds.. . You like that chemy hydro cancer causing weed. Maybe 4 -5 dispensaries have a decent selection
 
Assume that was directed at me since hyroot lives in so cal. Love how you west coast fellas seem to think that because i am not in a med state i have never seen a good looking bag... top grower huh? Pull up the quote of me saying so or even implying i am a "top grower" and i will apologize for clearly you have ascertained so much more knowledge in your quest to know everything!
