About the dimmable ballast.. It wont need breaking in! What brand are you getting? I run two digital 600's and have played with the dimming feature with no problems so far. I run a Apollo and a Thunder. I prefer the Apollo over the thunder for the simple reason that it runs cooler than the Thunder. Something I found out is that the thunder does not like the hood being unplugged while the ballast is on as it killed it and had to be replaced.

Oh.... and I don't think moving the carbon filter to the floor will do much for you. I started out with mine on the floor then moved it to the ceiling to make more room. The change in air movement was nill..... I have my intake blowing at the floor under the plants so the air hopefully flows up through the plants.

My air conditioner is up near the ceiling also and works perfectly since cool air will drop to the floor and the hot air rises to the ceiling to re-enter the A/C unit. (in a perfect world)

Well i finalky made it to the end of your thread, quite a lot for only being a month old. I like my filter up top for floor space, dont have a good vortex of air like skme peeps though. Looking at getting one of those contractor work fans (what i call em) from the home depot. Will sit in the floor in between my two rows of gals and blow a breeze up in the canopy.
Remeber reading you were set back by "bad organic nutes". Bad like old or bad like stay away from this shit it will kill your plants. All in all seems to be coming along nicely for ya. Have to look more into that ais stuff. Question and feel free to right it off as stupid, how come you dont attach airstones to the end of those lines when you transplant. Might help woth the clogging issue, just a thought. If im getting it your pretty much doing dwc but in soil by giving the roots as much o2 as they can take, definitely interesting.
Also what kinda tent were ya thinking?

yeah airs tones break down. but so did my lines. Im gonna make new pots next go around and find a good air stone that can do the job. i guess i can just add a cost of so much for air stones and toss them after each harvest. i can say is my c99 will be the only plant not affected by either bad nutes or air issues. so she will be the true test. I can say this i do love this system they grow so fast and i can feed feed feed them. at diff stages they like diff ppm lvl's which i have learned. that will all cahnge when i put the big 600 watt hps in there tomorrow or friday. this grow started in January. i lost 1 month of ground. i should be at harvest with 2 of my plants. but i kept them in veg till i could sort it all out. I want to add amino's to my mix i have start using fish leftovers in a compost. and i will be starting a worm farm also. so things will change a bit but im gonna stick with this system for 1 year at least.

I just soak everything in H2O2 and run the air. I am still trying to find hoses that don't grow algae.

First I must finish the screenhouse!

Here was my first try at a detached res:

First my res was in the tote:

Then I added an outside res with clear tubing:

Then I added copper:

Then I made the mistake of reducing my bubbles and increasing my res temp! Result - root rot :P

Here is my new stainless tank waiting to be finished:

Cheers,
Mo

mo res temps need to be low like 58-60 F. also you need as much air as possible. you could use black lines cheaper than copper.

I read an article that said that the water could only hold so much oxygen and that there was no need for all those air stones. I thought it was great that I didn't need all those lines and stones. Plus I added some 5500K CFLs that were very hot!

When I saw that people with more bubbles were getting better roots I changed it back but the heat and reduced bubbles had taken their toll. I kinda backed off of the indoor at that point because it was just too much work compared to these:

Mo
