Looking for feedback from RIU pros.....

Long time student/reader/viewer... first time poster, with a serious sense of humor. I'm sure I will hear ALOT of "shoulda's"... looking more for the "what you should do's"...

First grow, got some free seeds Red Dragon/LSD Hybrid, (Indica Dominant), they were free because we all know they will be jacked up soon enough.. poor girls... But, while we were away...

They are just now into the 3rd week and were moved to "Big Girl" (5 gallon) pots last night. I believe that is the reason for the drooping/sagging, before the move they were perky and firm... just like... never mind. For those that subscribe to multiple "trans-pottings", Im sorry... I made the decision to move them directly to their final growth and resting place.... They are in FFOF mixed with perlite. No nutes as of yet, I hear the RIU pros say that FFOF is a "hot" soil and nutes are not needed until the 4th week...or so.... I will be using the complete line of Fox Farms Nutes... I'm sure I will hear about better ones out there....

These three, along with 7 other seedlings have been on 24 hour light schedule. I have heard from many RIU pros that CFL's and 24 hours of light are both fine for young ladies. Sorry if you feel otherwise. They were under 8 Spiral CFL's (5000K) and Two 4' tubes, mixed with 2 cool white (6500K) and warm white (2700) tubes. They are now under a 600W / MD in 4 x 7 x 7 room on an 18/6 light schedule. The temps during the "day" are 77-78 and at "night" are 72-73. Humidity is between 28-30...... lower side I know, working on this... any suggestions would be great, other than a humidifier, pots of water or wet towels. Using tap water, from the tap at 7, that has been out for 24 hours pH'd to 6.5. Soil is reading at 6.5 as is the run off. Besides the possible cal-mag deficiency, which have read is a common problem with FFOF and will be adding some cal-mag next watering, which I will hear is the wrong thing to do, Im sure....

Anyone got any suggestions for a newbie? Looking forward to having some input...

better nutes would be Nectar for the Gods (expensive tho).....u basically got everything down that i would personally tell you....FFOF is a hot soil and with general shock of transplant that would prob be the reason the girls look the way they do, other than that, just keep trucking....u got them under a 600W (thats awesome) 4x7x7 is def enough space for how many??? ten or so i think u said....just stay on top of them and def hit them with some calmag....looks like weed tho good job

keep doing what your doing . they look good. give them another week . as soon as you throw them under the mh light they grow so fast it takes few for every thing to catch up in the plant. may do more harm then good hitting them with nutrients at this time . wait as see im sure they will improve in looks soon.

Thanks Sweeve for hitting me back... Moved a total of 5 girls to the 600W "room", plan on only running those through flowering. Left the others in the CFL area for now.... they were slower in development, will keep there.

Thanks Diesel, good advice! Will watch them for recovery from trans-potting and consider nutes only once they are back in the saddle!

Just plain water for awhile. I would not feed them for three weeks and then half of what is recommended. Look into feeding teas. Best way to run them. Just my opinion though. Going totally organic is the way to go. Your'e on your way.

Thanks for taking a look and your feedback Gandalfa.... Yeah, definitely keeping things low and a slow build with the nutes. Teas interest me, on my list to study up on.

Opinions on what nutes are best are like assholes...everyone's got one! My suggestion is to stick to the basics and don't over complicate things with a ton of additives and 'snake oil' if this is your first grow.

Why don't you want a humidifier? I need to use one in my 4x4x7 veg tent and it works great! It cost $30 at Target(and they have one's that are even cheaper, like $15). Works like a charm. I had the same problem as you, my humidity wouldn't raise above 20%. Stuck that humidifier in their and it stays steady now around 60% and my plants LOVE me for it.

Spraying your tent, hanging a wet towel, keeping a bucket of water in my tent...none of these worked(at least not longer then an hour or two) and didn't keep the humidity stable.

I cannot comment on the product except I do use and like the bloom chaos at the beginning of flower for a 1x foliar feed.

Simple is my moto now lucas/head formula gh flora series=coco/perlite 6ml gal micro 9ml gal bloom 1gram gal epsom salts and 1ml gal silica

oh I am just an average grower and by far no pro.
