Are ballast a must for a 1000 watt HPS?

Hi everyone,

Due to my location shipping is super expensive and I'm thinking of to do without the heavy (shipping costly) things. Can't I just use a voltage stabilizer which I can easily find locally instead of a ballast?

Greatly appreciate your advice

no , you will need the ballast to fire up the light. Order thru Amazon . They often have free shipping .

you can get that super account thru amazon, i forget what it's called, and i don't think it's very pricey.. one of the perks with the account is free second day shipping on al orders, and it'll quickly pay for itself if you order large items to a distant land..

Amazon Prime is awesome, but it sounds like this guy may be located in a place that may not work for.

They just raised the price of Prime. I believe it is $99 instead of $79. Still worth it to me.

Shipping on a 3 x 6 tray was 150+ to my door. Bought it locally and paid $70 more, but no shipping. Do all sellers have to honor it?

I'm talking really far, like a few ocean and continent far. Shops from the US are the only shops that sell ballast and ship internationally.. but shit.. looks like I have to pay for expensive shipping.

No, all sellers don't honor it. Still well worth it though. You can do a search on Amazon and filter it by products only eligible for Prime.
