Need a supersoil recipe

I am looking for a recipe that will allow me to just water when needed.

I have used subcools recipe but, the roots organic has always caused insect problems. I would also like to use 5 gallon pots instead of 7-10 gal.

Is there a recipe the at its base is peat/perlite/WC with added goodies? I have not found anything.

My main goal is to just water I do not want to use teas etc.

I do cootz recipe and i get better results than subs mix. plus i dont like to use guano and bonemeal.some of the recipe for subs is redundant. I recently adjusted to a vegan recipe with coco / soil for 5 gals.

50/ 50 peatmoss / perlite or pumice. By the bail.
that should be 12 cu ft total. Then add 2-3 cu ft of worm castings, 2-3 cu ft compost.

then nutes per cubic foot of total soil.

1/2 cup crab meal
1/2 cup kelp meal
1/4 cup neem meal
4-6 cups glacial or basalt rock dust.

then cook mix. You can add coco and cook it or add coco right before you fill pots.

I recently dropped crab meal and now using down to earth vegan mix. After a few batches if it doesn't work out. I will go back to crab meal. Also dte vegan mix, add twice as much as crab meal.

If you are useing roots and getting bugs try fox farm ocean forest. If you are still getting bugs it is because you are growing in REAL organic soil with live shit in it.

Go get a hotshot no pest strip and use for 3-4 days in beginning of veg when using new soil and be done with them. When not using the strip store in a ziplock.

I read your response in another thread but, to make sure NPK ratios are not that important? I choose to use down to earth whenever available.

EDIT: One more thing is there an alternative to compost or a good one I can order? I prefer to purchase online.

The no pest strips release toxic chemicals into the air, which can then settle out onto your plants. They absolutely do not belong in an organic garden.

There are many simple, non-toxic, organic solutions to a little fungus gnat infestation. If you are turning to toxic chemicals for something as simple as that, you might want to read up on IPM.

cook for 5 -6 weeks. Set aside a base mix for veg while that's cooking.

humic acid is an alternative to compost. Compost is far better. You can get compost from any nursery, hydro shop, home depot. If you are in Cali look up agro scape. They are a landscaping company. They sell quality worm castings, compost, and rock dust cheap. Otherwise google keep it simple organics. I think its kis.com

I am aware of IPM techniques, but for the OP. The hot shot no pest strip is safe enough to use and control his issue untill he learns to prevent instead of control.

I respectfully disagree. If you were aware of IPM techniques, you would not be recommending a toxic chemical before even trying something organic. In the "organic" forum, nonetheless...

Yes, it is too late for prevention if the pests (likely fungus gnats) are already present, but there are NUMEROUS non-toxic solutions available to handle a simple gnat infestation. If you understood IPM, you would understand that one should at least TRY these solutions before turning to toxic chemicals and straying from organic techniques.

The OP is talking about mixing up a new super soil. Incorporating neem seed meal and crab meal into that soil mix would be a simple and organic way to put the insect problems behind you without touching chemicals that are probable carcinogens (DDVT)...

THAT is IPM; solving the problem BEFORE it gets to the point where you feel that toxic chemicals are the only possible solution.

As a bonus, you still get to say that your product is grown organically without lying through your teeth.
