Dept of Education Orders Plymouth H.S. to Tear Down Newly-built Ball Field Bleachers

So now the liberals at the Dept of Education are introducing "sports stadium equality." According to the Office of Civil Rights, if somebody else builds a new park, then if you want a new park, THAT'S YOUR RIGHT.

Somebody should ask the Feds if the Miami Dolphins can now have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stadium torn down, since the 'Fins football stadium is not as nice as the Bucs' stadium.

So ridiculous.

Department Of Education Orders Plymouth High School To Tear Down Baseball Bleachers

The US Education Department's Office of Civil Rights has informed the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Superintendent, that Plymouth High School will have to tear down a new set of bleachers paid for, and built by parents of students in the district.
I am guessing that this was a Title IX complaint
The bleachers were brought to the Department of Education's attention because of an anonymous complaint. There are those who will guess that it is the complaint of a parent or parents of a girls softball player, and it will be hard to dispel that notion.
There are those who will say that some folks wanted bleachers for the girls softball games just like the bleachers that the baseball parents bought and installed, but wanted them for free, and didn't want to work to install them. It will also be hard to disagree with that theory.
oh yeah outrage machine ahead full steam who needs stinking facts.......

Now the US Department of Education, while they were at it, also determined, in their infinite wisdom, that the bleachers must be made handicap accessible
no no no no no it cannot be about handicap accessibliity havent you heard "some people say its about the girls"!!!!!!!!!

sometimes i wonder how you guys manage to get dressed in the morning

That's an easy fix. Not tear the fucker down hard.
or build stands that meet zoning laws and that are safe???

Unfortunately, and unbeknownst to many supporters and parents, the boys baseball scoreboard and seating updates were constructed and managed outside of the appropriate district protocol and oversight several years ago [my note: 2001, according to this article]. Upon closer investigation, the District also learned that the seating addition didn’t meet existing laws and zoning ordinances, and was not physically safe. Our goal is to work together with boosters in the future to ensure any facility improvements made on school property are safe, equitable and meet existing zoning ordinances.

Still doesn't require a complete tear down. Permits etc can be gotten after the fact and still does not require a complete tear down.

EDIT: I see it was bs. Thank you forbes. It still wouldn't require a tear down. So whatever that's worth lol.

No, you fix it in place. At least you attempt to before rippin it out. It's not the first or last time this has happened.

We have a brand new(well this would be second season in it) high school football stadium that has some problems. More major than the baseball field seats.

They are attempting a fix in place first. Last resort is tear it down.

ahh so you know the details of how the stands were unsafe? please give me a link so i can read up on it.....

when dealing with shoddy/ dangerous workmanship often the fastest and cheapest way to fix is to start from scratch otherwise you have no ideal what problems you'l come across once you start trying to remedy the old stands

Is the foundation for the stands cracked in half? I'm sorry, this football stadium has that problem and seats way more people then that baseball stadium.

You don't know the damage either you know. I have built and remodeled and repaired commercial and residential sites in my time on earth. Including remodeling due to ADA.

I know the last resort is ripping it all out and you try to fix it in place instead.

But, you are not a university or understand the funding.

But, I do all that remodel, too. There are many times where it is just cheaper to rip it out.

That is especially true, when there is extra sugar money if you do so.
