Dorm room grow??

If you have never grown before, this is a bad idea.

Are you familiar with the smell of your strain? Do you know how big it will get? If you're growing from bagseed you may end up wasting your time and having to chop yer plant early. Micro grows can be very difficult to filter adequately.

The fact that you will be growing in campus housing is troubling. Not only will your roomate know, his women and or friends will probably figure it out too. You have a major detection probability there. Snitches are usually the LEAST suspected people around you, and believe me, they will fuck your world up.

If you are in the States, you have absolutely ZERO protection from the law no matter what you think. If anyone rats you out they will come, and they DO have jurisdiction and probably just cause as well. Anyone who tells you different is simply wrong.

Not only could you manage to get yourself arrested, thrown out of school, and possibly blacklisted from other possible schools, you are risking the future of your roomate, and possibly your RA friend as well. If you are receiving any scholarships, you can kiss those goodbye as well.

If you really NEED to grow right away, get yourself a part time job and rent a shitty apartment. You'll have more space for a better grow, and far more privacy.

i think your underestimating the smell, unless you got a really decent fan and carbon fliter it would smell every where

and decent takes up some space lol trust me

also youll be having a bunch of problems (usually happens on the first grow), and hiding it around will be hard... all it takes is one day for you to mess up and it smells and then youre fucked

yea id use the fridge but if u've got big enough balls id say 4 ft high and 4 ft wide. have a 2ft wide room each for flowering and veg. once they are like 2 ft tall in veg stick em into flower.

and i would still do the box if i grow in the apartment but i thnk i will do 5 feet wide and 4 feet tall. this way i can have two plants vegging two plants flowerin and one mother.

When doing anything illegal, one should always compare the reward to the risk. Would you steal a pack of gum? A $1 pack of gum isnt worth the risk of being caught and embarrased. Your situation, growing in a dorm room, just doesnt make sense on the scale.

I dunno what furniture you can bring into your room but ill tell you what a buddy of mine did all 4 years while in school never once got caught.

Ikea sells those closests right buy one and then go to home depot and find those rubber seals (its like a weather stripping for doors to block draft) place that in the inside of the box around the door. and in the inside part you can just use a normal caulk and go around the box as well. do the same when you decide where the vents will go and just hide the ducting now there not only blocks light but also keeps smell in. He did this at a major college for all four years he was there.

BTW for those that say that 4 plants smell up your house your obviously not taking the precaution needed cause ill tell you what Ive had 60 plants growing at once and no-one and i mean no-one knew I was growing in my loft. so some of you might wanna do something about that and btw i dont use scrubbers or any type of sub just normal fans

I think your homey's apartment is a much better idea. And utilities wont be very high for a couple cfl bulbs and some fans. Glad you are thinking safer.

Well obviously different strains smell stronger than others, if you had 60 plants with no smell well good for you. Id say thats the exception rather than the rule.

I dunno im just saying ive grown about 4 times and ive never had a problem with stench just puzzles me when people say they have 4 plants and stink up their whole house.

Guess ill try to find some skunk and see if that smells my shit up haha

Right now Im growing some Afghan and Sweet Dreams and a variety of bagseed (ranges from high grade middies to British Columbia indoor)

Up in my loft it smells esp the Afghan but nowhere else I do have a pretty sealed room minus the flap I enter which is also where I have the air exhausting out.

But no lie my other grow buddies come to my house and like sniff out and are always shocked to never smell anything.

Hey guys,

So i have been just kinda chillen and reading the forum for a while now. I was hoping to have my first grow when i go back to school so i dont have to grow in the rents house. I would like try and grow in some sort of box below my bed (my bed can be lifted about 4 ft off the ground). I figured if i got my bed near a window i might be able to fit a box that could grow 4 plants. Any thoughts on being able to grow in a dorm room and size of container would be much appreciated. besides that i thnk iv gathered enough info to have a pretty good grow from u guys.

I didn't read the entire thread but I would strongly recommend to wingspeed to research what strain you get extensively and get one that does not smell as much. There is a huge range of stinkiness these plants can make. Anything with skunk in the genetics, stay away. I can personally recommend the strain I have for my first grow. It's called white lady. Sure, you've never heard of it but look at the trichs in the pic below. It is high quality bud for sure but very low odor. You have to put your nose right up to the buds to get the fruity, piney smell. I grow in a rented apartment with no carbon filter and the smell does not leave the grow room. With a carbon filter and/or ONA block plus using a sealed minifridge it would be undetectable. Check the pic, here's the link if you like what you see. Sativa Seeds-White Lady
