Buds form but then stop growing

I just startef doing a rdwc system with four 5 gallon buckets and a 10 gallon reservoir. My plants do fine until about the 3rd or 4th week of flower then the bud sites form and then they just stop. The plants seem to get lockout or something. The day temps are 72-77, and night temps get as low as 62. I use the gh flora series with koolbloom and calmag when needed. The strain of the plants are unknow. Bagseeds!

Are you keeping your ph in the right areas? A drift between 5.7-6.1 should keep you awway from lockout

Third or fourth week is about the time when stretch ends. Are you sure there is something actually wrong and it isn't just a normal phase in bud development?

Did you check for light leaks during the dark period? How much nitrogen you feeding?

Thanks for the replies guys. I think the overdose of nitrogen is what is causing my issues. I cut way back on my ppm. I was pushing them to around 1200-1300 and they ended up with burnt tips and really dark leaves. Ive flushed with florakleen to try and get alot of the salts and junk out of the system but that didnt seem to help. Its driving me crazy since this will be the second crop in a row with a horrible yield. Maybe 2oz off two plants.

Anything past just the very tip is already getting severe. You dont want that tip burn and you want the plants to "glow" not be super dark green

Thanks for the info bro, this is my first experience with nute burn and its only my second round with this new rdwc system so im trying to get it dialed in. I cut my ppm back down to around 500-600 so hopefully i start to see some buds swell a lil bit here soon. Ive been growing now for around 8 years and i feel like a complete noob now

You are running a dwc and not killing em... Theres nothing noobish about that. Just make sure that you pay attention to them lower leaves and when they start fading to hop back up to 8-900. Dwc was something I was gonna do before i found coco hempys. Now ill never do anything else

I usually run my PPM @ 1100 during flowering and I have not burned any part of my plants. I think that as long as your PH is good you should have no problems with burning as long as you don't go crazy with the nutes. You may also want to check into getting some quality seeds. Bag seeds are good for an experiment but if your only running 2 plants at a time I would suggest you get some high yielding quality genetics. Big Bud and Donkey Dick are a couple that come to mind if you want a large yield on just a couple plants. I have been having great luck with genetics from Cannacopia. Their beans are cheap and quality. They have them at Hemp Depot for between $30-$40. I have had great success with their Bubba Kush X Deep Chunk. Nice purple buds with the classic Bubba Kush taste and a super stony Indica buzz. Lots of good bud in 8-9 weeks flowering. I am a fan. Good Luck Dude!
