Ok rollitup im here with my first real attempt at growing indoors

I have a 4x4x6.5 grow tent with a 600 watt switchable mh/hps lamp
that im using vertically with a cage and 6 inch fan to blow heat up
about a week into veg at 18/6

the fan is on and spinning the camera doesnt do it any justice

grow tent stay cool with the help of my ac that i have in the room with it

2, 5gal buckets filled with 3/4 coco and 1/4 perlite

6 inch 440 cfm ventech duct fan and scrubber along with a speed controller

For nutes im using
Advance nutrients jungle juice 3 part grow, micro and bloom
along with advance nutrients Overdrive, B-52,Big bud,and Voodoo Juice
also some CALiMAGic for any calcium and magnesium deficiencies if i run into any

i have ph up and down
tds/ec meter and a ph meter
ph calibration
ppm calibration

Im growing Humboldt from ch9 fem seeds

as for my girls i have 2 of them one is 1 day older than the other

heres the oldest she sprouted on march 30 and is 9 days old she has a bit of a mutation in one of her leaves but that isnt bothering here she is growing strong

Now for her sister
she sprouted on april 1 and is 8 days old

both were transplanted from solo cups to there final 5 gal buckets
Im planning on veg for at least 30~35 days then i will flip to 12/12
they both seem to be doing alright and i will be putting more pics up when they get bigger.

any questions, comments or concerns im open to them all, enjoy

Bro it looks like you've got the room go for a longer veg and get more bud in the long run.

Also does that metal mesh around your bulb get hot I might be interested in trying something like that

I still haven't really decided how long im vegging for. I want to be done flowering near mid july hopefully.

The metal mesh it stays cool to the touch i can put my hands on both sides of the bulb and hold

them there without being burned, i initially put it up for me not to burn my self and by accident i

made it the perfect size for the 6 inch fan i have in it.

That's very creative Im really thinking about trying that out instead of my cool tube.
yah it cools the bulb significantly i turn the fan off and tent heats up so it helps a lot. Plus it gave

me a way to hang my bulb i finally have everything dialed in and it remains a constant 73-75f.

What size light you have and are you running it vert or horizontal?

You shouldn't be running into too many problems. I like the setup and the line of nutes you chose. The last pic is showing a very happy little girl.
Nice job.

I'm running a 400w HPS in a cool tube right now in these last few weeks of flowering. I have heat issues though but I've been combating them fairly well as they arise.

my plants would tell you other wise...
So wait... are you saying that those little plants at their current size, can use all the light put out by that MH? Hell, like 100W or less of CFL's would be more then enough for those things for a couple weeks. The MH is perfect, and I like the vertical setup. But I just don't see it being energy efficient in this situation.
I mean, it WILL work great, but it's more then needed is all i'm saying. Just because your plants grow with it, doesn't mean you're not being excessive.

thats the good thing about growing, you learn a lot. everyone develops their own style of growing its what makes us unique in my opinion. the good thing about this setup, you can change it up in a heart beat if one thing isn't clicking with the other. biggest thing ive learned in growing is just to keep it simple and go with my gut.

i rather have more than they need than to have not enough , like you and i both stated they will do great. If i was really concerned with wasting energy i would dim the ballast but i rather not strain the bulb
