Cal Mag with my fox farm nutes?

Hello. I'm one week 1 of 12/12 flowering. Using a 110 watt t5 HO set up with 6 cfls. Growing in Fox Farm Ocean Forest with 30% perlite. I have used RO water thru out my whole grow. I will start hitting the nutes steadily during flower. My question is, do I still need to throw in the Cal mag with my fox farm nutes during feeed (BB, GB, TB?) Being I'm using RO water. I Have been using Cal mag bionicaire Plus at about 1/2 strenght every other or every 1/3 watering. I used the big bloom on one feeding last week and that's it. Thanks in advance for your input.

Calmag is always good to have and use when needed.

i have used the foxfarm line quite a few years.

the last 2 years i have been adding MagiCal and have had very good results.

i start using the MagiCal around the 2nd week of veg. (maybe a little sooner) and continue to use it until around week 7 of flower. these are just estimates on time and i also feed lightly unless the plant needs more.

The FFOF should be pretty stable as far as Cal/Mag goes. But in using RO it could be a good idea to use a Cal/Mag at like 2.5ml every other feeding and increase if need be. It won't "hurt" at that ratio so if it makes you feel safer - go for it. I don't see all of the plant in the pic, but what I do see, shows no "need" for it. Your choice. If you ran in Coco and used RO. I would have said every feeding at full strength!

Ah okay! I wasn't sure if I should be using it with every watering or not. I just mixed my bloom nutes with Calmag and RO water today but the plant didn't need watering so I was gonna hold of until tomorrow. So you think I should remix my nutes without the CalMag? Barring no noticeable deficiencies? My last watering I gave a full strength calmag RO mix.

For soil, you should use limestone for calcium (calcium carbonate). For hydroponics, you should get calcium nitrate.

Anything else is throwing your money into a hole.

  • Has anyone used advanced nutrients sending cal-mag with ff nutes? I know that there nutes do not include calcium as a micro nutrient.
