I posted this in plant problems section and got some feed back but was woundering if anyone has seen this in hydro before woundering if anyone could identify this problem ppl send mites but I cannot find any. It's dwc 3 part gh flora, RO Water with 200-300ppms of cal-mag during veg now in flower I'm using 400ppm of mag-plus not affecting new growth just lower and mid canopy starts off as spots then starts browning and killing the leafs fan. I keep ppms at around 1100-1300 thanx second week of flower. Really could use some help

dont go by ppm... burn is showing in middle of leaves. so i have had a similar issue. check water temps and start using something to keep water fresh. i use h202 now an works great, 29% at 3ml per gallon which is under strength from what people say

Yea thanx bro my res never stinks and roots are bright white but ill try some h202 if you have had similar leaf damage in past and helped I have also dropped my ppms down to 1000 see if that helps, and my temps goes from 68 morning to 73 hottest point my ph never moves more then .1 it stays and 5.8 thanx ill update in a week hate to stress the plant right now she us starting to bud beautifully and I want all her energy going into to not trying to right deficienties thanx agian
 
Could it be insect damage? spilt nutes on leaves? It's nothing drastic so I wouldn't mess with your nute regiment too much as it appears to be pretty much dialed in.
 
Also could be too much nitrogen. More than likely the Cal-Mag your using only has nitrogen in it. That in combination with your normal nutes could be causing a toxicity, leaves very dark green, downward curl. Especially with that much Cal-mag. I set mine to only about 100 ppm, then again I like to run my nutes on the lower side to avoid damage.

10-4 thanx bro I have switched about a week ago to mag-plus witch has no N In it , just very frustrating not to be able to pin point it again correct it , but tonight I'm going to trim all affected leaves and spray azamax again keep nutes around 1000 and see if I can't get rid of this ,

Well if it's localized to just a few lower leaves it's no prob, but if it's spreading to the whole plant you have to worry.

My strawberry cough had similar symptoms on a couple of lower leaves, this is from insect damage, thrips, dealt with them ages ago using neem oil and she is doing just fine now

some strains like in the 2500 range. Go by what the plants look like not what the ppm says.

Here's 1720 with no burn. Strain just likes it high

make sure this isnt thrips cause it could be. And if it is you are close to fucked my friend.

Thrips would these be noticeable by eye , or noticeable at all ??because it is starting to spread rather up the canopy been sprayin azamax every two days for the last week now I'm starting to notice these kind of leaves..pic below but there is any other plant in there way smaller in soil not suffing none of these effects...

Unless it starts getting worse, or it starts happening on newer growth I would just keep an eye on it and not worry about it too much, especially if those are the only couple spots you see it.

Do you have a scope? If not get one and check the under side of your leaves for pests-may of them cannot be seen with the naked eye, and once you can it's too late. I don't think it's pests, but a scope is an essential tool for a grower to have-by the looks of things you seam serious enough to have one.

I would agree to lower your ppm slightly. No strain I've ever grown likes anything over 1000ppm.
 
1) if your lower leaves aren't getting enough light tue plant will start focusing its energy on areas that are getting sufficient light. The leaves at the bottom cannot harness enough energy to properly synthesize food and the plant naturally cuts its losses.

2) air flow. If your not circulating air throughout the plan, carbon levels will become uneven and can create the same problems as a nute defeciency. Also the plants transportation is hindered without proper air flow.

3) switching to bloom nutes immediately after light switch. Your plant doesn't need bloom nutes for 2-3 weeks after flower starts. If you have gone directly into full bloom solution, your plant could be taking up too much potassium and phosphorus trying to meet its nitrogen needs. I always leave straight veg nutes first week of flower, and slowly increase bloom ratio 30% each week. Thus beginning full bloom regiment 3rd week of flower (or as soon as pre flower is over and bud sites have formed.)




If your using organic material in your solution, smell it. If it smells sour or fermented it could be old, have gotten too hot, or has contaminants. Any of these things will change the npk and the availability of materials in your media.

If your using rockwool cubes, try lowering your water enough that the rockwool isnt getting wet. Rockwool can do funny things to ph as well if it wasn't leached properly. Your ph of the water might be 5.8 but if your rockwool cube has been getting saturated this whole time, its ph could be drastically higher/lower and could even have excess salt build up. Try top feeding ph water as a flush next nute change and leave the water level about half way from bottom of res to bottom of net pot.
