I wouldn't hit them with the 1000 watter yet, no need for it. I use 200 watts of cfl in front of a reflector for my seedlings and keep the temps at about 76*F at plant level. ( lights are about 6" from the plants)

Thanks, I've transplanted them into a solo cup ever so gently and filled the soil up the stalk aways. It's amazing how fast the roots can grow in so little time!

Is there a good way to figure out how much to water? I have this fear of checking on them and having dried up plants - but at the same time am thinking this is why people end up overwatering.

If you put them in a solo cup and water once when you sow you shouldn't need to water them again until after they break soil. The only things I've had dry out too quickly are the little pete pucks, you have to keep your eye on them as they can dry out really quickly.

Solo cups are pretty awesome for gardening ;)
