It actually is better imo. Every one has their own opinion. It might just take some getting used to
i agree wyte.. let's think about what we had before the update.. hmm, spammers out the ying yang, time out errors every other time i hit refresh, warnings from google. captcha all the time, so on and so forth.. and look what we have now.. yeah, i wasn't crazy about the new layout the first day or so, but it's cleaner, works great, and has since grown on me.. the old riu is nothing but a memory for now, and thank god for that imvho. :D

why cant people use the search feature? and stop making new threads for old problems.
I like it but at the same time I hate it.

I take it you never go to the newbie section
lol, i never usually mind people asking the same ?'s over and over.. if i feel like answering, and helping out, i will.. if i'm not in the mood, i'll just skip over the thread.. pretty simple imo..
plus, asking questions and getting responses is the way a forum like this works, even if it's an old, tired question imo, as it establishes friendships and lets you know who is willing to help out.. :D

The forum looks worse but it's definitely way faster and better. I can actually change the look because Linux is cool like that. Losing all my rep and likes sucked but whatever.

We all started out with knowing nothing. For some people it's easier to just ask a question in their own words. They shouldn't be chastised for it.

The thing that gets me is the lack of that nice user cp. I could log on, see which threads I was watching that had activity, look down at my reps and have a good walk down memory lane to all my good posts, have a laugh at the picture of Pocahontas with a listerene bottle I had up there.

Actually might still be around somewhere, I haven't bothered to look.

yeah, from what i got out of it is this.. google goes to various web pages every so often, and if they find any malware on w/e on the site i guess more than once over a given period of time, they will either block the site and tell you that out of 100 visits in the past x amount of days, they found pages with malware 4 x's or w/e numbers they may be..
when this happened the last time, google was blocking access to the site, and you'd have to go to advanced settings to get around their warning.. ( i scanned my computer, as did a lot of others, and i didn't find any malware, just an fyi.. )
the point being that vbulletin, what the site used to be based on, had long passed it's peak for use as online forums, and wasn't the most secure forum base available.. wasn't just an riu problem, but more so a v-bulletin problem, and getting away from v-bulletin alone greatly helped the security of the site from what i understand..
disclaimer, i'm far from a techy person, this is all from various things i have read on the forum and else where. :D

right at the top of this page steve, this is what i'm seeing...

if you click on the watched threads, it's pretty much the same thing as the old sub'ed threads link, minus the rep of course..
(i have noticed on mine though, that it's only one page long, and not 100s of pages like the old way, but it's still newest talked in thread is at the top, and so on.. )
