That's very nice of you to say seamaiden. quite the compliment. I do have to say I dont envy you guys growing outdoors. I used to do it and now that I am indoors I have almost nothing to battle against as far as my plants health...well besides those damn spidermites...but I think my cat drags them in from the bushes in the front yard. I will say though...with that sun you will far outgrow my little girls.Honkeytown, I aspire to grow like you.
That's my biggest fear. A friend of mine who lives nearby lost his whole crop to spidermites. He has two dogs, do you think thats how he got them. I have three dogs and one of them always goes in the plant room when I'm in there. If thats a risk I will stop him coming in.That's very nice of you to say seamaiden. quite the compliment. I will have another update sometime tonight or tomorrow morning. gotta get this house clean. lol
I would stop letting him in there...I dont let my cat in there anymore...besides the spidermites he is a long haired cat and I find his little hair all over my plants from the fan...so since I havent had to pick any hair off my colas...lol...crazy kitty. I wont even go in the back of my house anymore after mowing my lawn and I stopped wearing my shoes in my grow room also...many precautions and the mites have been better. be careful bmad...and if you do get them you can kill em but you gotta use insecticide. in the mean time just shoot em with neem oil as a preventative measure and keep it tidy. That's my biggest fear. sweet....thx...i am gonna germ some new seeds and get about five bags goin in the next two days....I am falling behind on my cycle here cause the rest of the connies wont germ for me.Wow! Looking GREAT, honkey. The way I've seen grow-bags used is just like pots. They're filled with soil and then you let 'er rip.
lol....that's funny. I am gonna try that and give them two more days...but I am also gonna start a bunch of bagseed a friend of mine gave me. he has been saving seeds for a few years from his dank bags.....so I have about 15 seeds and I cant wait to see how they turn out. this guy always has some great chronic. I just went and looked at my big girls and I think I am gonna take the smaller one in a few hours. I am excited.I got a full 80% germ rate on the Conquistadoras. About the same as my bagseed. However, Flowergurl had once told me that slightly scuffing the seeds before trying to germinate gets a better germ rate. I've done it once, again on the bagseeds of mine (which just fucking WANT to grow, I swear), and with that I got a 100% germ rate. It's damned tough scuffing seeds with sandpaper, though (150 grit, approximately). I also tried it with a nail file and the seeds kept flying all over the place (don't try using tweezers, makes the problem worse, and don't ask me how I know!).
scuffing works well for me too...I take sandpaper, roll it into a tube, rough side in,and slide it into a pill bottle...put your seeds in,pop on the top, and, well, you get the picture...lolI got a full 80% germ rate on the Conquistadoras.
