Mandala seeds satori grow

I got Mandala1 now and its a little sickly right now. I have done it outdoors with Hashberry too and both were some of the best genetics I have ever grown. I did very little care as I was scared of rippers. I had them growing in my garden and both produced hard nice buds that really piled on the thricomes early into the flowering process. You won't be disappointed with any of the mandala strains from what I have seen

Started germing one to day. Anyone growing satori please post

I have grown Satori a few times, and I think it is a great strain.
The last time I grew it was summer 2013.

I wonder why you are starting only one seed though, because Satori is only available as regular(not feminized seed).
I would start two or three of them to make certain I get a girl(or greatly increase the odds)!
Good Luck!

We're doing the Satori grow together. I'll be starting two and he'll be starting one. I want Satori pollen so I'm not too worried about one being male and if it's Odins that turns out to be male we'll keep pollen and clone the other's. We can also increase the odds of getting a female considerably using methods that I know from first hand experience to produce more females and then use fem pollen. With said methods we have achieved a 7/8 out of ten male to female ratio on several occasions. I feel like Satori pollen is in the top twenty of must have pollen. We do have 7 more Satori as well in case things go wrong. :peace: You plants are beautiful. Are those 1 gallons? What was your yield like? Growing specs? :weed:

Thanks.
Yes, they were in one gallon containers, as my goal was to intentionally keep them puny for this grow.
I never weighed the buds from the harvested plants, but the yield was better than I was hoping for...I still have some left in jars.

Nice. They are so lush and healthy. For a sativa dom I am noticing a bit of Indica in the leaves. Was this also the case with some other growth characteristics? bongsmilie

Today marks Day 1 of my Satori grow. Both seedlings have sprouted and are looking good. I will post again after the first node or so. :peace:

Satori is an interesting strain, in that, it grows more like an indica dom plant.
It does not stretch all that much, and best of all provides tasty, sativa type buds in less than 80 days.
It is robust and vigorous, and very easy to grow.
I have found two basic phenos, both of which are nice, however, I prefer the pheno which stays a little shorter and seems to have more indica leaves.
The harvested buds are very potent and tasty...providing an inspirational, super clear heady high...great for creativity and listening to music or playing video games. Keeps me attentive and focused for hours on end.
Great strain, which more of you should try!

Good strain, I noticed two phenos from the 10 I popped. The shorter more indica being the better of the two. Also crossed a short stinky male that had huge leaves, with a bunch of different females. It added density and crystals to everyone, without affecting the mothers flavors. I will try and find the pics of the parents and the offspring.

I am curious about these 'methods'. I was under the impression that sex was pre-determined in the seed and 'tricks' cannot improve your ratios. I know that this has been debated widely but in all my years growing I just accepted the luck of the draw. Best of luck with your grow, I have head good things about Mandala.

I was under that impression initially as well. However, I have had a consistent 70% + success rate using these methods. It is possible that sex is pre-determined or maybe, sexual dominance is as far as pre determination goes. A mature cannabis plant can develop opposite sex flowers and so perhaps the same is true with the Marijuana seed. The seed will "choose" either sex based on environmental factors. There is a slight difference between a feminized plant and a truly female plant with a 100% female genome having Zero% male markers so perhaps said male dominant female plants have a higher tendency towards hermaphrodism or producing male seeds at a higher ratio to female seeds. Whatever the case, the methods are as follows and are to be implemented at roughly week three and four from sprout or the plant has 3 pairs of true leaves: Higher nitrogen, cooler temperatures, more blue spectrum light, shorter daylight hours, lower potassium levels, high humidity. This is taken from Henk, the owner of dutch seeds. There is also evidence from Sweden I believe that increased vertical space for root growth will yield more females as well. :bigjoint: Good luck and hope that helped. :peace:

No problem. I guess I should add that in some cases you can actually increase the odds of having males as well. Basically the opposite of what you would do for females. More red spectrum lights, higher temperatures, longer daylight hours, higher potassium and any stressors during this 14 day training window. :peace:

I don't buy this method. Nothing personal....my veg room was set up like this, and it is still strain dependent. Some packs I tried were more male dominant, some more female. With a 50/50 chance, it is hard to give accurate results...even if you do hundreds of seeds. Yes I tried to put seeds into long, not wide, seeds trays, the idea is, if the tap root is unrestricted than the plants turn out more female. This also is not accurate. I have known and tried many methods to predetermine the sex of seeds(like if the embryo emerges from the side it will be male, if it comes out of the tip, female), methods like your talking about, and also female seed spray, like sensi soak that used to be out years ago.
None really worked to create females or female seeds.

I haven't read anything about the tap root growing out the side or using a seed soak as you say, I have however read up on marijuana botany. It is possible that pistillate sexual type may be as high 60-80% anyways regardless of methods used as a result of, "accidental release of pollen from predominantly pistillate hermaphrodites along with the complete eradication of nearly every staminate dominant plant." (Robert Connell Clarke) I know however, from other literature as well, that often genes are expressed with or by stimulation of the expression of other genes. Nature Vs. Nurture is a very real part of the genome of cannabis and I've seen personally that increased red spectrum light and longer daylight hours (18/6) will produce more males and using only blue light 5-6500K and shorter daylight hours (14/10) produces more females. Is this because in nature during the spring there is more blue light being emitted and the daylight hours are shorter so using red light during early vegetation with longer daylight hours is merely a stressor? Idk. I'd love to discuss further, nothing personally taken. :peace:

My jars of yummy cured Satori are getting close to being empty.
I will pop and grow my last five Satori seeds for my next grow...beginning in a couple of weeks.
