What is too early in 12-12 period for pistils to start turning amber/orange. Just to avoid confusion, I'm not talking about 12-12 from seed here.
Simple question, can't find a straight answer

Ok, I'm in 4th week and I have pistils turning orange, I thought maybe that would be more around 6th week, i hope to let it go another 4 weeks or more. Those buds need to get bigger, my profile pic is one of them

I'm still new to indoor growing and I had never noticed that pistils started turning that fast, I was afraid they would mature to fast when I first saw orange pistils in the 3rd week of 12-12.

I'm hoping to flower 8 weeks at least then flush for 1 week....here she is.

some mature quicker than others and environmental factors will also force them to turn early i.e to high temps

I have an 8" inline fan for exhaust, keeps my 600W air cooled hood cool to the touch, all the air from the tent exits while cooling the bulb. Temp is 20 to 24 celcius and humidity is 45 to 55%. It is my first grow with a 600w and tent, I used to do 150w hps grows in my closet.

Yes that explains it... The trichs will develop faster when conditions are optimal..that is when you have ample lumens. You are seeing the diff. Don't confuse the orange pistils with amber trichomes- red/orange hairs suggest the onset of maturity meaning the plant is done growing by now- the stretch period is over & just the buds/trichs will continue to develop..Id say you've got 3 weeks of more on this one so give it 12 days & then start your flush- keep on checking those trichs

probably the wrong spot to ask this but cant get a good answer, does anyone know if the co2 bags work even slightly and if they do are they for vg/flwr or both do they help in yield quantity/quantity or both or mainly do they work at all if hypothetically someone had a 2 1/2ft by 2 1/2ft bush in a 32gal with 1200w (2x600hps one vertical one horizontal) in a 4ft by 6ft by 7ft room covered in mylar using the Go Box from G.O. I know they guys at the shop are going to be like "hellyeah they work" but was just wondering what the real world thought. thanks (sry crappy pic from the top) started 12-12 2 days ago

That is mostly for people who can't vent their grow area, though I think some professional growers do it. If you use it, you have to make sure that the air that cools the light does not exhaust the air from inside the grow area. Also you have to make sure you are producing enough for the size of your grow area. You have to keep the co2 around the plants as much as possible. And it does work if your plants are starving for co2(bad venting) they will get bigger buds with co2 added. But you will still have to vent your light!
I recommend just venting out used air through a window or into the attic, the plants will not starve for co2 if you keep venting away the air they use, they will do fine and it will be easier to control humidity and heat.

The exhale co2 bags and even the homemade yeast bottle co2 only work well if you've got a very small enclosed space- spent $40 for a bag in my 3'x3'x6' tent & saw no noticeable results. Fresh air intake works just as well as this IMO. CO2 tanks are truly the only way to go but expensive and bulky too. Doesn't seem worth it for the average Joe Schmo who is growing mostly for his own head.

i do a lot of shit the hard way so my fan ducting is brought in and out every night since i keep the door open and im in 12/12 so i close the door and out with the lights so its pretty closed up with no fans at night i figured this would also help with keeping the co2 in. my plants have always done better if i turn off the fan for 12 of the hrs for a rest i guess. i vegged under a smaller light and switched to the 2 600 for flowering i got the co2 at the same time i switched to the new light so its hard to tell if its the co2 bag or my plants are just naturally hulking out cuz it seems like i can see them growing they are getting so big so fast
