Growing up in S Fla we had Bufo toads which would give symptoms similar to what you're describing but Idk if you have them where you live.

Dogs may mouth bufo toads, thus getting a large dose of the bufo's toxins, secreted from the skin and parotoid glands. Symptoms generally include profuse foamy salivation that looks like shaving cream, difficulty breathing, brick red gums, convulsions, paralysis, ventricular fibrillation, vomiting, and uncoordinated staggering. Untreated, the death rate for Bufo marinus may approach 100%(4).

theres really inst much i have gophers and dont put out poison cause the dogs, but ill have to check with the nieghbors to see if any of them may have, ive got a avocado tree, persimmon tree, lemon tree, and some aloe vera plants in the back. and weeds and grass i havnt fertilized at all i just mow and leave it i dont bagit up or anything, i think thats considered composting. lol

i live in town so there isnt any snakes and whatnot...

BUT I DO HAVE A HUGE RACCOON. the dogs have pinned him up in the persimmon tree before ot for months though cause theres no fruit. they are up to date on ALLL THEIR VACCINES>> distemper, parvo, rabies, both are registered with the county and microchipped. Im one of those pitbull owners that actually give a shit. im at a loss what to do. the vet wants 200 each just to send their BLOOD TO THE LAB. im going to wait a few days and hopefully they ride it out.

last vet trip cost me $1400 to keep under observation 48hr. and tell me they dont know what happned.

Saturday afternoon they started acting funny. walking wierd ajust a basic loss of motor skills, and confusion wich escalated within hours to the point of both dogs having seizures followed by tremors/shaking and losing their bladders everywhere.

Sunday morning they were seeming to bounce back both had no appetite to speak of and i was starting to get worried about dehydration. after speaking with a friend i decided to start giving them Pedialyte to keep fluids in them. they were comptely lethargic, throwing up and incontinent but the pedialyte seemed to help.

Monday they seemed to be doing better still not eating but drinking on their own, and i thought that i may be out of the woods, i let them out to go to the bathroom from 11-pm-1230-am then went to bed and woke up tuedsay and they were having seizures again and all the same symptoms from saturday. i put another camera up to catch the fuckers, i dont know if ill be able to keep my cool if/when i catch them.

Have you had a look around to see if there is anything dangerous that has been dropped, spilt, left open anywhere where your dogs have access? Be it accidental or intentional?

We woke up one morning about 18 years ago to find both of our youngish cats dragging themselves along the paving stones to the back door retching and crying. We didn't know what had happened for 3 or 4 days but eventually we found that they had somehow come across some antifreeze. Logic would say that they'd have possibly licked it once and then said nuh-uh, but whatever they did or didn't do, they both ended up having to be put down after a few days :( taught us a lesson about keeping chemicals out of harms way.

ive had a Rottweiler eat a frog and he got really sick as well

also i had a cat that was poisoned by someone intentionally
the cat was, initialy a stray we took in
and one morning i woke up and it was lying dead next to a ashtray full of antifreeze

definitely put up some cameras, they could be simply spraying something at the dogs through the fence

they definitely havnt gotten into the shop. they have been in the garage with me before but everything is bottled up and on shelves im a pretty organized stoner ive been told.. i dont know wether its a compliment or not though.

i made sure to be extra noisy and obvious so i used the air compressor when i was boarding everything up even though it was more of a hassle than using the little battery impact i wanted them to see me installing the camera and talking to their landord about boarding up the fence area cause i went in their yard for a little bit.. (snooping) there was footprints all the way up to my fence like someone was looking over.

so they heard me talking to their landlord and i havnt heard hide or hair from the little tweeker birds since.

cameras are up and the area where i feel its comng from is separated by about 20 feet now its sorta hard to explain, but this neighbor only has about a 10 foot area of fence that is adjacent to mine, there was already and awning over my side, which left a gap between the fence and roofline.
I boarded that up as well so there is no gaps and also boarded the area off temporarily untill i make a more permanent fence and gate now the dogs cannot go within 20 feet of that area. they are bouncing back today up and moving tails wagging, they both are eating/drinking on their own I watched the cameras at lunch to see. not as playful as usual but ill see how things go in the next couple days....

This was in response to SF's post about his sick dog's.

Weep not for this pitiful creature. She insists on staying out in the rain despite her titanium pinned hip. She smells like a fetid carpet, and is often referred to simply as 'the rug'. But she is loved. For love is blind and has no sense of smell. Bless this hound.
