Is this normal? My other two seeds didn't do this. It looks so funny.
when i have had this happen i just let them go until it is barley holding on before i try and take it off it will pop out on its own there was a time i tried to early and the seedling didnt survive so i would wait till its really splt wide open and you can tell its barley on there

you think it would just come off by itself? I rather not touch it. Its my 2nd seed and I eff'd up the 1st one lol

that's the thing, sometimes i've seen the cotylodens not want to grow with the shell on it, and other times they grew just fine and it just ended up just being the shell at the end of the leaf, which looked rather funny, after a week or so..
let me look at you pix again..

man, that thing looks to be stuck on there pretty good.. :(
i'd just keep an eye on it for a few days. and if it doesn't look like it's gonna come off, you can use a pair of tweezers and hopefully try and open the shell enough to pull it off the plant..
but yeah, just give it a few days and see how they do on their own.

i would give it another day or so before attempting surgery. the shell needs to split a little more. a drop of water on it will help keep the shell soft enough to split some more before trying to extract it off. be careful when adding the drop of water that you don't keep soaking the soil. only a drop on the shell.
