that was sarcasm! this argument will never be resolved I think. it will just move on to something else. I'm going with the RW-150's because I'm limited by height and you can get a little closer with the 150's.

I love how you make up so called claims. Not one person on here has ever said a 250w led equals a 1000w. Everyone has said 500-600w or 600-700 watts of led equal a 1000w. Now with that said. People should be pulling 2 lbs under 600w of led or a 1000w of hps. Or 1 pound with 310w of led or 600w of hps with high yielding strains and optimal environment of course. The cola captain showed ^^^^ came from just under a half pound yield from 190w of home depot Cree leds

Well I'm about to run my xgs with an rw 150 in a 2x3. About to blur the lines even more. But if I can at least double the last yield and get around 13oz all I could say is the rw performs as well as the xgs. But I pulled 6.5oz off the xgs so I know it works for sure.

Im tossing1 up between a51, induction, hans and Apache.... although the A51 seems like the best deal for what they do in terms of price

Clearly, LEDs can grow excellent shit, but the high initial cost is the stickler for most of us. I'm going to try a vertical tree grow next time around to keep plant count low to avoid a mandatory jail sentence. There doesn't seem to be any LEDs sold that would work in a vertical. Or at least none that I'm aware of.

inda gro makes a vertical light called the vpar. I have one. Its not 360 degrees its 300 degree coverage on each side. CMH would be great for vert. The Philips elite agro or allstart line. Better than hps.

there is the benefit of hid, a bare bulb vert hid grow will destroy any light made, id like to see a stackable led tube with 3 watters that runs similar to a cool tube, I think that would be the shit.

I've looked into that. It would have to be 1 watt leds driven at 50% at most because of cooling. It would have to be multiple bulbs per one vert. Cree makes some street lights in a vertical fashion that could possibly work. They use x-te's too. I posted a pic and link to that light in my first induction thread.

yeah im workin on my first diy led run now so I dont actually know shit, but my vision of my ideal vert led has me thinking, maybe it needs to be 1 watters, I dunno but the idea is limitless, nothing would touch that rig imho

White light in and of itself is not THE answer.

It depends on the phosphor blend. Now, the new concept of mixing nano-particles into the protective covers might well be a huge addition

I do think you can bud under current whites, where WW is ~ 40%, or the NW has a broad WW spectrum covering 630 and some 650

In my personal opinion that does not make any sense! The reason people run HID vert in the first place is because the light is spread in 360 degrees. With LED it is all directed within the beam angle. Making a vert LED light is a waste of money. I think someone has made one already too. Way to expensive and IMO you could buy a HID and kill it.
HID was made for vert!
LED was made for horizontal!
