Donald Sterling is a moron. There are unspoken rules in any society. The sports body has every right to sanction bad behaviour. He's free to say bigoted and stupid stuff (yay free speech!) and they're free to sanction it for tainting the sport and compromising the money flow to investors. Seems straightforward. Now could someone get Bettman alone before he completely ruins hockey?

I'm glad someone in this thread gives a fuck about a badass sport too! Also, so true about how we're complicating this beyond what it is...if they didn't discipline Sterling then how many ppl, not only blacks but a lot of races, would turn on the NBA and not trust Adam silver..thus hurting their revenue.

Reforming football made it soft. They are also trying to soften up the NHL.

What they need to do is go back to the days of the 70's-80's. It needs more bench clearing brawls and random goonery.

As far at the NBA, I think their actions were a little overboard. However, they are essentially a private club with a set of rules agreed upon by the league and the owners. Therefore, if they are within their rights and wish to overreact that is their choice, I dont think it should be interfered with.

I sit here listening to the amazing amount of general outrage for some 80 year old idiot when we got things going on in this state where Veterans are not being provided promised medical care and there is actually a debate whether the head of the program should be fired or not...

Show me where this team owner actually injured someone and maybe I will actually give a shit...

racism is the belief that a race has an intrinsic advantage over other races at a given task.

Bigotry is the hatred of other races or groups.

One can be either of those, and not the other. Most often, however, folks with one, have the other.
